Pink Tutu Blog Paris #346: Whirlwind Waltz in the City of Lights! š©°š¼š
Hello, my darling Tutu-ettes! It's your favourite pink-loving ballerina, Emma, writing to you from the most magical city in the world - Paris!
I took the EuroStar over, you know, the best way to travel, it's all about that chic train journey feeling, no jet lag, and time to admire the ever-changing countryside from the comfort of my little corner booth. Oh, I do love a good train journey!
But let's face it, Paris is truly where dreams are made. This city, with its cobblestone streets, breathtaking architecture, and that je ne sais quoi (how about jāai tout le monde en tutu? š), itās got a rhythm thatās impossible to resist.
It's my 346th blog post dedicated to the beautiful city of Paris and let me tell you, darling, itās already been an absolute whirlwind of pink, tulle, and the most enchanting experiences.
So let me tell you all about my Saturday in this fabulous city:
The Parisian Ballet ā A Dream Come True
I was positively giddy this morning, ladies! I woke up early, a little excited, ready for my morning treat: a Ballet Class at the Ćcole de Danse de lāOpĆ©ra. I just had to check it out, I mean, the Paris Opera, wow! Talk about iconic!
The class was pure delight. A whirlwind of arabesques, fouettĆ©s, and plies! Even the walls were oozing ballet history. I even managed to snag a couple of pictures with some fellow students - I swear I can almost smell the buttery scent of fresh pastries from the boulangeries close by. Ah, itās just that Parisian charm, I think.
Later in the evening, I had tickets for a ballet performance at the Palais Garnier! Talk about a feast for the senses! It was the Romeo & Juliet production, and oh my goodness, the choreography was spectacular, it literally made my heart flutter! There was just so much romance in the air - all those passionate leaps and twirls.
Pink, Fashion & Indulgent Delights
Of course, no trip to Paris is complete without a bit of indulging in those fabulous Parisian fashions, am I right?
This afternoon, I waltzed through the iconic Galeries Lafayette, let's face it, shopping here is a veritable fashion feast. But trust me, even if youāre not planning on purchasing anything, the sheer volume of the designers and the styles will have your heart skipping a beat - oh, and just look at all those perfectly draped fabrics, you could almost hear the whispered tales of each piece, it was breathtaking. I spotted some seriously chic pink shoes and handbags ā oh, if only my luggage were bigger!
But I did buy somethingā¦ well, actually a few things. š I had to, right? Who could resist the allure of a delicate pink scarf adorned with whimsical tulle flowers? My heart literally did a pirouette when I saw it!
Afterwards, I indulged in a delightful French patisserie. CanelĆ©? Eclairs? Macarons? I went a little crazy ā a pink tutu girl just has to try it all! The little pastel-coloured sweets, they are truly the embodiment of all things Paris! I might have had just a tiny bit more sugar than usual, but who cares? Lifeās all about a bit of a sweet treat, isnāt it?
The Heart of Paris - Notre Dame and Beyond
I finished my evening with a breathtaking stroll around Notre Dame ā its Gothic majesty is truly a sight to behold. That Cathedral! My breath caught in my throat. And the Seine at dusk? A fairy tale come true, really. The reflections of the streetlights rippling in the water were positively mesmerising! Iām still so smitten with the architecture of this city, and the little shops with those wrought iron balconies... so pretty!
The magic of Paris is in its stories, darling, tucked away in the cobbled alleyways, behind a creaking door, or in the whispers of the wind blowing through the leaves of a parkā¦ Just thinking about all those enchanting secrets has got me feeling very nostalgic.
*And, of course, thereās the little secret Iāve been waiting to tell you... *
My Parisian Surprise
Remember, my ultimate goal? To see the whole world wearing pink tutus, to spread the joy and whimsical freedom of this most wonderful garment! Well, Iāve found something quite wonderful ā and completely serendipitous! Thereās this incredible āPink Tutu Boutique" * tucked away on the very edge of the Latin Quarter. Iāll admit itās quite hard to find ā you just need to turn off the main street onto an alleywayā¦ but once youāre there, darling, the inside is absolutely heavenly. Think pastel colours, beautiful handmade pink tutus in all shapes and sizes (even a *special one for my next performance), it was magical!
The best bit? They have this āShare the Tutusā initiative. Itās not for profit. All they want is for people to wear them! Oh, I bought myself the softest silk tulle creation (the perfect shade of pale pink of course!). Can you imagine me swirling around the cobblestones of Paris wearing a new pink tutu? I think Iām still giggling over the fact that they have even one for my pet chihuahua. I just knew my Parisian dream was turning into reality!
Until Next Week!
Paris is magic. Its charm is in every detail ā the quaint cafes, the whispering avenues, and the laughter of children playing in the squares. It truly makes your heart dance and inspires the tutu in you. I'm not sure whatās next in store for me on this adventure, but I know itāll be filled with pink, tulle and joy.
I hope to see you again next Saturday! Until then, donāt forget to let your own tutu sparkle.
