#PinkTutuBlogParis - Saturday 2006-10-07: A Pink Tutu Parisian Adventure!
Bonjour, mon chérie! Welcome back to another Pink Tutu Paris blog post. This week, we're diving right into the Parisian spirit, and yes, I'm wearing pink! As usual. 😉 It's post number 354, so we're practically old hats at this by now, aren't we? You can find all my Parisian escapades on www.pink-tutu.com, with a new post every Saturday, rain or shine!
This past week was a whirl of excitement – think twirling skirts and twinkling lights – as I finally fulfilled a lifelong dream and journeyed to Paris. Now, I know what you're thinking: "How did a girl who wears a pink tutu afford this?" Well, darling, it's all thanks to my dancing! Ballet performances and a healthy dose of Derbyshire grit have funded this trip, so thank you to all who've enjoyed my shows, because you've truly made this happen. 🩰💖
We left from the quaint little station in Derby, the air alive with the anticipation of a big adventure. The Eurostar whisked me across the channel in record time – so comfy and quiet, a lovely start to my trip! Arriving in Gare du Nord, I felt a surge of electricity. Paris! City of Lights, city of dreams, and oh, the shopping! It's like stepping into a magazine.
After checking into my lovely little hotel, I set out to conquer the city. My trusty pink tutu, of course, came with me. No matter where I go, my beloved pink tutu will always be with me – it's not just a garment, it's my confidence booster and a symbol of my passion!
The first stop was the famous Champs-Élysées. What can I say? It's exactly like it looks on TV. Stunning! I found myself doing that whole "holding your breath and gaping in awe" thing, with a couple of twirls in the middle of it all because, well, when a tutu-wearing ballerina arrives in Paris, she has to twirl! 😄 I even snagged a delicious crepe while admiring the glittering shop windows. Did you know the most incredible crepe stall is right by the Palais Garnier? Definitely going back for seconds.
Next on my itinerary: the Palais Garnier Opera House. It’s absolutely breathtaking - ornate, extravagant, grand. I just imagined the ballerinas of yesteryear flitting through those halls and felt a tingly excitement! Then, the day’s surprise, a sneak peek inside the Salle Garnier itself, complete with the gorgeous stage set and an impressive array of pink velvet seats! What a privilege, and to think it was all just a peek for a lucky visitor like me. Imagine the majesty of an actual ballet performance!
That evening, however, it was street art that was on the menu. The Quartier Latin was abuzz with life and art! There's just something magical about seeing art outside of galleries. Plus, I caught a lively, acrobatic street ballet performance – a reminder that ballet isn't just in theatres; it's everywhere! These street artists were sensational, the passion and athleticism simply phenomenal. I swear I saw them defying gravity with their twists and leaps!
My pink tutu has also been on display around the city, of course! The Eiffel Tower, Louvre Museum, and the Sacré-Coeur Basilica - each one deserves its own blog post. They’re all postcard perfect, so if you're in the area, you know what to do – pose with that pink tutu and capture the Parisian magic!
This whirlwind trip was jam-packed with delicious food and endless Parisian delights. I even sampled a Parisian macaron (oh my!). They really do melt in your mouth, like tiny little clouds of sweetness. I also took in a delightful performance of "The Nutcracker" at the Théâtre de l’Athénée - so utterly enchanting! To see ballet brought to life in a city where ballet is almost a language is truly an unforgettable experience.
This is just a taste of my Parisian adventures, and you can trust that I’ll be filling you in on many more exciting discoveries! We’ve got so much to explore, from cozy cafes to bustling markets, so get ready to hop on board this pink tutu roller coaster!
Until next Saturday, remember to live your life in a pink tutu.
Bisous!
