Pink Tutu Blog: Paris - Post #353 (Saturday 30th September 2006)

Bonjour mes chéries! It’s Emma here, your favourite pink-tutu-clad blogger, writing to you live from the City of Lights – Paris! Yes, I know, it’s been a whirlwind of a week, what with packing my favourite pink tutu, planning the most fab outfit for the Eurostar journey, and ensuring my little ballet bag was absolutely bursting with everything I might need. (Can’t forget the emergency sequins!)

Oh, did I mention I travelled to Paris on the Eurostar? The sheer glamour of hurtling through the English Channel tunnel was, frankly, magnificent! My travelling ensemble? Well, I thought it appropriate to showcase a bold red velvet jacket with an equally bold scarlet beret, perfectly coordinated with a floaty pink tutu skirt, my signature ballet pumps and a little scarlet bag that added a touch of sassy sophistication. (And I absolutely can’t forget the mandatory feather boa!) I was turning heads on the train, I assure you!

But before I delve into my Parisian escapades, let’s have a little chat about my funding for this magical journey. It's no secret that my love of travelling the world and spreading the gospel of pink tutus isn’t cheap. So how do I make this all happen? Well, my darlings, it’s through the joy of dance, of course! This week, I performed in a stunning ballet showcase, all grace and twirling in a gloriously shimmering turquoise tutu. I was completely smitten with the vibrant energy and applause from the audience. My pockets are always a little fuller, and my heart is overflowing after a good performance. That's how we do it!

Now, back to Paris! I am absolutely in love with the atmosphere. Everywhere I look there are grand avenues lined with beautiful architecture, impossibly chic boutiques displaying the most wonderful garments, and charming cafes with people sipping espresso and enjoying buttery pastries. Even the air smells of romance! It’s honestly everything a ballerina’s Parisian dreams are made of.

And the shopping! I haven’t been able to resist dipping into some of the most elegant Parisian shops. I just couldn't leave without a pair of dazzling earrings with oversized pink gems – so divine! My love for all things pink means I can’t say no to a blush-toned scarf for the autumnal weather, and my eyes couldn’t tear away from the shimmering satin handbag. My wallet might be a bit lighter, but I feel a million dollars!

Saturday evenings are perfect for embracing the Parisian charm. This evening, I am off to see a performance at the stunning Opera Garnier. I've been dying to experience the iconic theatre's grandeur and catch a spectacular ballet. I'm going with a new friend, a beautiful girl named Josephine who’s just as much in love with the art of ballet as I am! Imagine - Parisian cobblestones, a symphony of Parisian laughter and elegance, and me, in a perfectly beautiful ballet gown, feeling like a ballerina in a fairytale!

Speaking of fairytales, Paris has such an incredible atmosphere for inspiring the imagination. The cobbled streets, the beautiful bridges, the Eiffel Tower twirling majestically in the distance – all whisper of a life overflowing with grace, elegance, and a pinch of magic. You can’t escape the allure, can you? And I feel so completely, utterly inspired to spread that sparkle to everyone. Think how fabulously the world would be if everyone wore pink tutus! Think of the fun! The glamour! The delight!

That’s my Parisian adventure for now, my loves! Keep those eyes peeled for next week's blog, where I’ll be talking all about Parisian street performance, the gorgeous ballet schools here, and a few secret locations that I discovered today that I simply have to share. And, of course, I'll be sharing some breathtaking photographs to tantalise you with the wonder of Paris!

Until then, remember, it’s okay to let your inner ballerina shine. And, you’ve got my permission to wear that pink tutu! Au revoir!

Bisous!

Emma. x
