Hello, darling readers! It’s Emma here, your resident pink tutu-wearing ballerina, ready to whisk you away to the most romantic city in the world… Paris! I’m writing this from my charming little hotel room overlooking the Seine, with a glass of French rose and a platter of macarons – yes, life is pretty good right now.
After months of planning and saving, I’ve finally made it to the capital of fashion, culture, and oh-la-la! You could say my journey here was practically destined – travelling via Eurostar feels as magical as a waltz, complete with its sleek carriages, delectable food and, of course, a dash of French chic. It feels like I'm floating towards my dreams in a shimmering cloud of tulle.
This trip is a dream come true for this ballerina. Just imagine – I get to spend days browsing the elegant shops on the Champs-Élysées, lose myself in the enchanting atmosphere of the Louvre Museum, and, most importantly, indulge in the endless allure of Paris’ ballet scene! Today alone I saw an incredible performance at the Opéra Garnier. Imagine my delight at being swept away by the sheer talent, passion and elegance – every twist and pirouette filled my heart with inspiration.
My pink tutu has been making its rounds here! I wore a whimsical bubblegum pink number (my very special vintage find!) to the show this evening. Honestly, it was just begging to be twirled amongst the grand Parisian scenery. I have to say, the Parisian public loves a good pink tutu! I received so many smiles and compliments from fellow theatregoers – a perfect way to start this amazing adventure!
What’s on in Paris this Saturday?
If you happen to be in Paris on a Saturday, you're in for a treat! From exploring charming markets brimming with Parisian delicacies and unique finds, to taking a romantic stroll along the Seine, Paris is teeming with charm and wonder. For a unique Parisian experience, check out the Tuileries Garden, a haven of peacefulness amidst the urban buzz, or grab some coffee at one of the iconic cafés. And let’s not forget the world-renowned fashion houses. I have already picked out a couple of boutiques on my "must-visit" list – you can’t go to Paris without indulging in some haute couture!
My Favourite Parisian finds:
I can't talk about Paris without mentioning a few of my favourite finds!
- Shopping: Le Marais district has become my haven. Every corner bursts with creative fashion boutiques, antique shops, and independent designers, perfect for unearthing hidden gems. I must say, this trip has inspired me to revamp my entire wardrobe, but that’s another story for another day.
- Cafes: A steaming cup of coffee, a flaky croissant and a spot of people watching - that's the Parisian way. Don't be shy about popping into a cafe, enjoy a long coffee break and embrace the relaxed atmosphere. I spent an hour yesterday at a cute cafe, lost in a Parisian novel with my tea, sketching the passersby – I almost didn't want to leave.
- Culture: For all you ballet enthusiasts like me, don’t miss the iconic Paris Opera! The Opéra Garnier itself is a sight to behold – the majestic architecture, opulent interiors, and unparalleled stage performances… It’s simply magical. I am already planning my next ballet viewing!
How I make Paris dreams come true:
I’ll let you in on a little secret: ballet is my magic ticket to travelling the world. Each performance is an opportunity to showcase my passion for the art form, earn some pocket money, and tick destinations off my travel bucket list. This week’s performance in Derbyshire was the cherry on top of the cake! I danced my heart out and the proceeds have brought me here. I am eternally grateful for my supportive community and their appreciation for my ballet.
A glimpse of what’s next:
Next week I’m going to spend a day exploring Versailles, exploring the ornate palace and its lavish gardens – my pink tutu and I are prepared for the photo opportunities! And then…a special performance awaits in the heart of Paris! You know I’ll be wearing my most dazzling pink tutu, so keep your eyes peeled.
