#PinkTutuBlogParis - Saturday 2006-10-28 - Exploring the City of Lights!

Hello, my darlings! It’s your favourite pink tutu-clad ballerina, Emma, back with another Parisian adventure, and oh my, you won't believe the whirlwind this week has been! This is post number 357 on my #PinkTutuBlogParis, a weekly dose of Parisian sunshine delivered straight to your inbox, so make sure you're subscribed to www.pink-tutu.com!

As a reminder, I fund my travels by twirling and leaping through ballet performances back home in Derbyshire, and I think we all agree - what a fantastic way to see the world! This week, my adventures led me to the romantic city of Paris, where I whisked away on a EuroStar journey, a grand adventure in itself! There's something so special about travelling by train, seeing the landscape whizz past as I indulge in a spot of sketching and maybe even a cheeky macaroon or two!

Friday Flirts:

Arriving in the heart of Paris was like stepping into a dream. It's no surprise the city is known as the "City of Lights" because it really does sparkle! After settling into my adorable hotel - complete with a balcony overlooking a cobblestone street - I headed straight out to explore! First stop, a visit to the Musée Rodin, a magnificent tribute to the famous sculptor. Rodin's "The Thinker" statue was absolutely awe-inspiring, and I just had to try and strike a pose alongside him for a truly pink-tutu worthy Instagram moment!

The next order of business - and a must on any Paris itinerary - was an exquisite pastry session at Ladurée! There was something for everyone, but I went for the macarons, naturally, their vibrant colours a perfect match for my pink tutu! After stuffing myself with sugary goodness, I stumbled across a charming little ballet shoe shop, where I picked up a pair of stunning red pointe shoes to add to my collection!

A Saturday of Serendipity:

Saturday started with a little retail therapy. After a leisurely breakfast of croissants (again!), I headed to the chic and fashionable Avenue Montaigne, a wonderland of high-end boutiques! While I couldn’t resist popping into Chanel and Dior, I felt truly empowered wandering around independent designers, soaking up the Parisian chic. The entire day was a whirlwind of discovery, finding little hidden gems tucked away in alleyways and meeting other creative souls along the way.

I simply had to spend an afternoon at the beautiful Musée d'Orsay, where Impressionist paintings come to life in an explosion of colours. My favourite? Well, how could it be anything other than Renoir’s "Bal du moulin de la Galette"? A ballet themed masterpiece if ever I saw one, the energy of the dancers captured in their whirl and twirl, truly captivating! It made me want to rush home and get back into my own tutu and practise!

Sunday Shenanigans:

Sunday was dedicated to all things Parisian culture! First stop, the Palais Garnier Opera House! This iconic building is not just gorgeous from the outside - the interior is simply breathtaking, a spectacular symphony of gold, marble, and crystal chandeliers! Even if I hadn’t been going to see the beautiful ballet performance later that evening, it would have been a complete pleasure just to wander through its hallowed halls and absorb the atmosphere!

As it was Sunday, I indulged in a lovely Parisian tradition – brunch at a café overlooking the Eiffel Tower! And let’s just say I might have had a few glasses of champagne – they were on the house because I was dressed in my pink tutu, the staff clearly had impeccable taste. The Eiffel Tower is so romantic and truly a sight to behold, especially with the glittering cityscape as its backdrop. The ballet at the Garnier was phenomenal – graceful, captivating, and magical. I found myself so caught up in the moment, twirling along with the dancers in my own imagination, of course!

Week of Wonders!

My week in Paris has been nothing short of a dream! It's a city that embraces colour and art, making every corner a moment of beauty and inspiration! It’s no wonder my Pink Tutu feels so comfortable here. My favourite thing about Paris, I’m sure I’m not alone here, is the sheer joie de vivre, a kind of infectious energy that celebrates life's simple joys. My top tip for Paris? Don’t forget to try some macarons! If I’m honest, I managed to eat more than my fair share this week.

Well, that’s it from Paris! It’s back to London and rehearsals for me next week. But trust me, I’ll be back in this glorious city as soon as possible. Until next time, my darlings, keep twirling! Don't forget to subscribe to my website www.pink-tutu.com for my weekly Parisian blog! You’ll find my posts filled with pink-tutu style, ballet inspiration, and, of course, all the glamorous fashion finds of Paris! I can’t wait to share more of my Parisian adventures with you, and to remind you all that every day should be celebrated with a touch of pink and a whole lot of twirling!

Love,

Emma xx

P.S. If you see me on the street in London, I’ll be the one in a pink tutu, giving out pink tutus to passersby to remind them to always have fun and embrace their inner ballerina. Because honestly, who doesn’t want to wear a pink tutu and twirl the day away?! And for my next blog post, I’ll be discussing all my favourite pink tutu finds from the French capital! You won’t want to miss it! Don't forget to spread the pink-tutu love, my darlings!
