#PinkTutuBlogParis: Paris, je t'aime! (Post #377)

Bonjour, my darling tutu-ettes! Emma here, back from another whirlwind weekend in Paris. It feels like only yesterday I was boarding the Eurostar, a giddy mixture of excitement and the thrill of that Parisian air. This city is like a magical candy shop, and this time I got to indulge in a whole new selection of Parisian delights! This week's adventures are sure to get you all dreaming in pink.

It wouldn't be a Paris trip without a visit to the ballet, of course! I've always loved the ballets at the Opéra Garnier. It's such a grand, magnificent building, you can almost hear the waltzes playing when you walk through the doors! This time I caught the "Swan Lake". Oh, the beautiful costumes, the powerful choreography - I was absolutely mesmerised. The swan costume was perfection, of course. There's something about those feathered tutus, the way they swirl and glide, it just makes me want to pirouette myself silly. Speaking of which, after the ballet, I had a quick whirl at the nearby Ecole de Danse de l’Opéra de Paris. I may not be a professional, but I'll take every opportunity to get my pliés on!

The next day, it was time to indulge my other love: fashion. My first stop was the legendary Galeries Lafayette. You guys know my weakness – all things pink! And Lafayette just happens to have the best selection of pastel pinks and the most delightful tutu-esque frocks I have ever seen. I emerged with two fabulous frocks, both perfect for my upcoming performances back home in Derbyshire. Now, the thing about shopping in Paris is you need to reward yourself afterwards! I made my way over to the Musée d’Orsay, enjoying the views from the banks of the Seine. The Parisian sunshine just added a certain je ne sais quoi, you know?

The weekend finished on a high note, a charming street performance at the Place de la Concorde. The music was lively, the crowd vibrant, and the costumes? You guessed it: more fabulous tutus! My Parisian trip never fails to inspire me to embrace the bold and the beautiful. This is the thing I love most about the city – it encourages you to let your inner pink sparkle!

What did I wear this week?

  • Friday: My go-to Parisian look: a soft blush pink pencil skirt and a silky, baby pink blouse paired with my classic ballerina flats. A pop of pink from my Pink Tutu bag finished it off perfectly!
  • Saturday: Well, obviously my black tulle tutu with my sparkly ballet flats. I felt like I was stepping out of a ballet performance, and I loved it!

Where did I eat?

You've gotta try the L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon. I couldn't resist the pink-tinged salmon! For a sweet treat, head over to Ladurée. Those macarons are truly divine, and they've even got a pink and champagne flavoured one! The colour matches my new skirt perfectly. 😉

Travel tip: If you want to travel like a ballerina (with grace, speed, and elegance!), book yourself a ride on the Eurostar. There's no better way to get to Paris! Just don't forget to pack a tutu or two for your journey - they're definitely the best fashion statement on a train!

Keep your eyes peeled on Pink-Tutu.com for my next Paris blog, every Saturday, same time, same tutu.

*Now, who wants to join me in a little dance? Let’s get this pink party started! *

Bisous, Emma
