Pink Tutu Blog Paris - #389: Parisian Dreams Come True

Bonjour, mon chérie!

Well, here I am, in the City of Lights, finally living my Parisian dream. The journey on the Eurostar was pure magic – whizzing through the countryside, my pink tutu swirling around me, a constant reminder of the adventure that lay ahead. And believe me, I am already drowning in a sea of inspiration!

This is the moment I've been planning for, oh, ever since I was a little girl twirling in my bedroom, pretending I was dancing on the grand stage of the Paris Opera House. Now, here I am, feeling like Cinderella after midnight, with Paris all to myself!

My journey began last week, with a final performance in Derby before leaving my Derbyshire home. I took my favourite pink tulle tutu, my new sequined leotard and, of course, a couple of new floral dresses, perfect for Parisian strolling. And let’s not forget the trusty camera – my most loyal travel companion. After a few goodbyes and lots of “au revoir”s, I was off! I love that the train feels like a big pink tutu, it swishes and twirls like me when I travel! It's funny how the smallest details can spark joy, and how the colour pink is my perfect passport to happiness!

Arriving in Gare du Nord was like stepping into a storybook. The air was thick with anticipation, the scent of croissants mingling with the melody of street musicians, a soundtrack for my Parisian escapades. And it was the perfect prelude to my grand adventure, my pink tutu swishing through the bustling city, announcing my arrival with a whisper of elegance.

I spent the first afternoon exploring the charming streets of Montmartre, that bohemian haven. Imagine my delight when I stumbled upon a tiny shop overflowing with colourful ribbons and sparkly fabric. A vision of future tutus danced in my mind, all adorned with sequins and feathers! Of course, I had to stock up on a few meters of that beautiful satin ribbon to adorn my pink tulle later. The vibrant colours reminded me of the Paris Opera House itself. Oh, I must go and see a show soon!

Later, as the sun painted the sky in hues of pink and orange (how perfect for a tutu-wearing girl!), I ventured into the heart of the city, to the Tuileries Garden. The iconic Eiffel Tower stood like a glamorous sentinel in the distance, inviting me to admire its beauty and take a thousand pictures (oh, the perfect Instagram post for all my pink tutu lovers).

The beauty of the Tuileries was breathtaking. I felt like I had walked into one of my favourite ballerina stories, all delicate blooms and enchanting sculptures. My new pink silk scarf felt as light as a feather in the warm air. It would definitely need to adorn a tutu for a performance soon.

Of course, no trip to Paris is complete without indulging in the Parisian cafĂ© culture. As the night deepened, I found myself in a charming bistro, a glass of sparkling rosĂ© in hand, surrounded by laughter and the tantalising aromas of freshly baked bread and French pastries. Oh, the food is divine! I haven’t even considered what my favourite thing is – the food, the shops, the people, the beautiful architecture, I’m just living it and loving it all!

As I sit here in my tiny Parisian apartment, a window overlooking the city lights twinkling like a million fireflies, I feel utterly charmed. The air hums with energy, the rhythm of a city alive, and a certain "Je ne sais quoi" makes my heart skip a beat. It’s the feeling that my Paris dream has come true.

And to think, my blog readers are a part of it! You are all travelling with me in spirit, and it's truly special to share my adventures with you.

Oh, and before I forget, you'll be wanting to know what's been on this Saturday! I did mention a Parisian performance.

We were lucky to snag tickets to see "La Dame aux Camélias", a classic ballet performed at the Theatre de la Ville. I felt like a princess in my sparkly tulle dress (did I mention it's pink?), and the energy in the theater was electric! I can't begin to explain the emotion, the raw talent, the pure magic that unfolded before my eyes. Oh, and I felt like I had walked onto the stage at least a hundred times during the show!

This is what I love about ballet - it's more than just dancing, it's an expression of art and emotion. The passion on the dancers' faces, the graceful movements, the captivating music
I was spellbound. It's a feeling that's impossible to explain, it's just pure magic.

Now, I'm going to catch some sleep, and dream of ballet slippers, sparkling tutus, and the beautiful city that stole my heart. After all, a Parisian dream doesn’t stop when the sun sets!

I can't wait to tell you more about my Parisian adventures next Saturday.

Until then, wear your pink tutus, dear friends, and remember to live every day with a touch of magic. A bientĂŽt!

P.S. I found the cutest little vintage shop near my apartment today! A real gem overflowing with trinkets, feathers, ribbons and oh, so many things pink. Can’t wait to go back and find a few new treasures for my ballet collection. I'm going to try and incorporate all of my findings into a performance in a few weeks! You’ll have to watch this space
