#PinkTutuBlogParis - Saturday 2007-06-16 - Exploring the City of Lights!

Bonjour mes amies!

It’s Emma here, and it's time for another exciting post from your favourite pink tutu-clad blogger. Today is a very special day - it marks the start of my Parisian adventure! I'm so excited to be sharing my travels with you this week, and hopefully inspiring you all to embrace your inner ballerina, whatever the city.

The EuroStar Whirlwind

After weeks of preparation (picking out the perfect tutu outfit, obviously!), it was time to board the EuroStar. Oh, the glamour! Whizzing through the Channel Tunnel, I felt like I was in a magical film. Even the EuroStar journey was an adventure - I indulged in the first-class experience, complete with complimentary champagne and gourmet snacks. Who needs a ballet performance when you have the delicious aromas of Parisian pastries swirling around you?

Bonjour, Paris!

Stepping off the train into Gare du Nord was a sensory overload! The sights, the smells, the bustling energy of the city - it was exhilarating! A quick cab ride took us to our hotel, where I unpacked my overflowing suitcase - crammed with all the perfect outfits to conquer Paris!

A Pink Tutu Dream

I love that feeling of arriving somewhere new with my trusty tutu, ready to explore. It adds a splash of colour and fun to any location. Imagine me, strolling down the cobblestone streets of Montmartre in my beautiful pale pink tutu, matching my pink beret. The contrast against the grey Parisian architecture? Divine!

Ballet on My Mind

Of course, no trip to Paris is complete without ballet! As I mentioned in my previous post (Number 389, remember!), I was lucky enough to nab tickets to the stunning Swan Lake performance at the Palais Garnier. The beauty of the dance, the grand theatre setting, the sheer elegance of it all… it was a dream! After the show, I savoured the afterglow with a steaming cup of chocolat chaud at a charming little café near the Seine.

A Feast for the Senses

Day two in Paris started with a truly Parisian experience: breakfast at a delightful little boulangerie near our hotel. I savored flaky croissants with a strong coffee, watching the locals rush to work in their chic outfits. Later, a visit to the Louvre was a must. Stepping into that grand building and gazing upon the Mona Lisa was an unforgettable experience. And, of course, my trusty tutu (a vibrant coral this time!) made for some fabulous photos amidst the artistic masterpieces.

Shopping Therapy

No Paris trip would be complete without some serious shopping. After the Louvre, we wandered through the charming streets of Le Marais, a vintage heaven! I found the most beautiful pink sequined cardigan to complete my collection, and a new pair of Parisian flats (pink, of course!). A truly blissful afternoon!

Parisian Chic

You simply can't escape the chic vibe here in Paris. Everyone has such effortless style! I observed a gorgeous woman at a nearby café, wearing a classic black beret, a black and white dress, and the most delicate red heels. Her nonchalant elegance was simply inspiring. The French know how to create effortless chic - it’s truly admirable!

Saturday Night Splendour

The night started with a delectable meal at a charming bistro in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. I indulged in a classic French dinner, accompanied by a glass of rosé and delicious cheeses. Afterward, a leisurely stroll along the Seine with its twinkling lights made the perfect end to an already incredible day. As I leaned against the bridge, gazing at the iconic Eiffel Tower glowing in the night, I couldn't help but feel incredibly grateful for this extraordinary experience.

To Be Continued...

But this is just the beginning of our Paris adventure! I've got so many more exciting stories to share, from hidden treasures discovered in Parisian boutiques to unexpected ballet-inspired moments around every corner. So stay tuned for next week’s post, where I'll share even more adventures and continue to spread the pink tutu love!

Until then, remember to twirl and embrace life in a pink tutu!

Bisous!

Emma
