Pink Tutu Blog - Paris: Post #413 - Ooh la la, Paris!

Bonjour, mes amies! Emma here, back from a whirlwind week in the City of Lights! Oh, Paris, how I adore you. I arrived yesterday, straight from the EuroStar, a carriage full of excited faces like mine. I can't help but get a little fluttery when I leave Derbyshire, even for just a short break. I have so much to share! This week, it's all about the enchanting spirit of Paris, ballet brilliance, and the magical feeling of a perfectly-chosen outfit.

I’ve got to say, there's nothing quite like the thrill of cruising into Gare du Nord, tucked into a little pink ensemble for the occasion, of course. It always feels like a scene out of a film. The energy of the city is contagious, the air positively crackling with creativity.

Speaking of creativity, let's talk about ballet! This week, I'm celebrating the iconic "Paris Opera Ballet." Oh, how I adore this company. I am here, after all, because I saw that they were performing Swan Lake. There's something about seeing such classic ballet in such a beautiful city that just takes my breath away! I actually watched the Nutcracker at the Opera House back in 2004, during my first trip to Paris. Remember those pics? My gorgeous pink tulle dress and a beautiful bouquet of roses?

But enough reminiscing, it's time to focus on the Swan Lake magic! Let me tell you, this performance was unforgettable. It was the perfect blend of drama and beauty, the costumes stunning, and the dancers moving with such grace and power that it practically took my breath away. Did you see the black swan, my darling? That incredible movement was absolutely breathtaking!

So, let's talk about my outfit! I had to dress up, naturally. I couldn't go to Swan Lake in just anything, could I? A perfect blend of Parisian chic and girly ballerina glam was the key. So I picked my absolute favourite, vintage pink dress from the charity shop in Matlock - it's just the sweetest little dress - and added some delicate silver lace details at the neckline. For my footwear, my gorgeous little blush ballet flats, perfect for both a ballet class (I squeezed one in yesterday at a delightful Parisian studio) and a night at the opera. I even popped a touch of pink lip gloss on, a bit of sparkly blusher, and a delicate rose-gold headband.

Speaking of glam, I've been browsing the vintage shops on rue de Rennes, looking for some incredible gems for my Pink Tutu Collection! Paris has an abundance of chic little boutiques - it's basically a heaven for finding that little bit of something special. Remember the La Reine Blanche Boutique I told you about? That beautiful boutique that has a little shop right in the heart of Le Marais? I love their clothes, the perfect balance of timeless style with just a little sprinkle of modern whimsy. It’s amazing to see how many fabulous vintage stores exist in the city – there's a whole different world just waiting to be explored!

Of course, my Paris adventure isn’t complete without a little touch of theatre! You see, this weekend, there was this brilliant little production on at a tiny theater off the Rue St Denis, called The Phantom of the Opera. Oh, how dramatic! There were real crystal chandeliers! Can you imagine, it was so captivating, the acting, the music. They say "It's so tragic it's nearly beautiful", and it was. You just never know what kind of fabulous performance you'll stumble upon when you explore Paris!

Tomorrow morning, I have a very special date with Cafe de Flore. There’s nothing quite like a perfectly prepared pot of Parisian coffee, and, you guessed it, I will be there in pink.

The week is flying by already and it's time to plan out my adventures for the rest of my Parisian trip. It's only been a few days and I already feel that Parisian magic filling me up with new ideas and creative inspiration!

Have a delightful weekend, everyone, and don't forget to let your pink tutu flag fly!

Bisous,

Emma xx
