Pink Tutu Blog: Paris ā Post #418 š©°šš«š·
Bonjour mes chĆ©ries! Itās Emma here, fresh off the EuroStar and practically bursting with Parisian joie de vivre. Itās been a long time since I last set foot in the City of Lights, but just stepping out of Gare du Nord felt like coming home. The scent of buttery croissants and the twinkle of Parisian lights just make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside ā and not just from the chilly December air!
This trip is extra special. Iāve been saving every penny Iāve earned from performing with my ballet company to afford this adventure, and trust me, itās been worth the wait. You know me, a bit of a dreamer ā but thereās something truly magical about seeing the world from a ballet dancerās perspective. Every cobbled street becomes a stage, every building a grand set piece. It's enough to make a girl want to twirl, and twirl I shall, my pink tutu shimmering under the Parisian sky.
But before I whisk you away on my whirlwind Parisian tour, letās take a quick trip down memory laneā¦
This year has been absolutely crazy! Remember that time I danced under the Northern Lights in Iceland, or that time I accidentally waltzed onto a Viennese opera stage during my holiday in Austria? (Donāt worry, it was the most hilarious accidental performance of all time! The audience loved it!) These are the moments I cherish - and of course, all the countless dance recitals, masterclasses and workshops. Itās been a truly spectacular year, and what better way to celebrate than by ending it in the most glamorous city in the world?
Now, back to my adventure! This week is dedicated to all things fashion. Paris is like a giant fashion runway, just begging for a pink tutu moment! Imagine me, gliding through the boutiques of the Marais in my most exquisite, frilly creation ā heads turning, eyebrows raising, hearts fluttering. Ah, to witness that expression of joy! The way some people just gasp in awe, āLook at that tutu! Isnāt it absolutely divine?!ā And thereās no better feeling than making people smile, right?
This week, my Parisian itinerary is packed with more than just tutu-inspired whimsy!
Saturday, 29th December:
- This very day, after my glorious EuroStar journey, Iām hitting the shops. You know me, I adore the latest trends, and the Parisian shops just scream haute couture, all while keeping things fun and fresh. My current mission? A vintage, powder pink, floor-length ballgown for New Yearās Eve, and perhaps a few new hats with pink feathers for my dancing collection! Itās gotta be all about sparkle and shimmer on New Yearās Eve, isnāt it?
- Tonightās grand finale will be a performance by the incomparable Paris Opera Ballet! Yes, my dears, weāre talking Swan Lake! How could I resist? Swan Lake, tutu, Paris - a perfect combination, if you ask me. I might even grab a cup of hot chocolate beforehand. Can you even imagine?
Sunday, 30th December:
- Tomorrowās itinerary includes a leisurely morning at the famous Deux Magots cafĆ©. I adore their macarons! The perfect Parisian treat to fuel up for my shopping spree around Saint-Germain-des-PrĆ©s. (Itās also conveniently near the Louvre museum ā always worth a visit, even for the iconic Mona Lisa!)
Monday, 31st December:
- Ah, New Yearās Eve in Paris! Talk about magical. Iāve got my sparkling dress all picked out (fingers crossed itās perfect), and I'm seriously considering pulling out a pair of bright pink dancing shoes ā think Cinderella with a touch of Parisian chic! Iām heading to the Eiffel Tower to welcome in the new year, with the twinkling lights as my backdrop. (Remember my first New Year's Eve with my pink tutu? I went with a bunch of fellow dancers, and we had the best time twirling on top of the Shard in London!) This time, I might even invite some local dancers to join me, you know, spread the joy! Itās all about the dancing, my dears. Itās how we connect!
Tuesday, 1st January:
- After the festivities, Iāll be exploring Montmartre, soaking in the artistic atmosphere. Think beautiful street performers, colourful galleries, and maybe even some ballet inspiration (who knows what might spark my next choreography?). Plus, thereās nothing more magical than a walk in Montmartre after a fresh snowfall. Just picture it! Pink tutu against a white background!
Wednesday, 2nd January:
- A ballet masterclass at a charming Parisian dance studio! The only way to shake off those New Yearās Eve hangovers ā or should I say āsugar rushesā? A little bit of stretching and barre work never hurt anyone.
Thursday, 3rd January:
- For my last full day in Paris, Iāll be going for a romantic carriage ride through the Bois de Boulogne. (Did you know itās considered to be one of the worldās most beautiful parks? It truly feels like stepping into a fairy tale!) It'll be the perfect ending to a wonderful trip ā surrounded by lush green forests, the horseās gentle clopping, and a little touch of pink tutu magic!
Paris is a magical city. It's hard to express what itās like to be here ā the feeling of history and culture and beauty in the air is intoxicating.
Remember, the worldās a stage and lifeās a grand dance. Every day is an opportunity to spread joy and kindness ā one pink tutu at a time.
I'll be back next week with another Paris blog, so donāt forget to check in!
Love,
Emma šš©°
