Pink Tutu Blog: Paris, Oh lĂ  lĂ ! Post #425

Bonjour mes amies!

It's Saturday, the 16th of February, 2008, and guess who's back in Paris? Yours truly, Emma, your favourite tutu-clad adventurer!

Now, I know you all must be thinking, "Emma, isn't Paris a bit… predictable?" Well, yes, maybe, but for someone as deeply in love with this city as I am, it’s never ever boring. It’s like a comforting cuppa with a generous dollop of clotted cream – you know exactly what you're getting but it's still heavenly!

This week, I took the EuroStar straight to the heart of Paris, leaving the chilly Derbyshire behind for the city of lights, the croissants and, yes, the fashion! As always, I made sure to wear a pink tutu. You can’t travel to Paris, you know, without one! Mine is a little number, delicately adorned with tulle, sequins, and tiny little bows, each one sparkling like a tiny jewel. The Parisian men swooned - they're certainly still got an appreciation for a beautiful tutu, even in the heart of fashion!

I’ve always said that a pink tutu can transport you anywhere. And in Paris, that's certainly true. It's an entrance ticket to every Parisian experience: strolling through the charming streets of Montmartre, watching street performers who make my little dance heart soar, enjoying an extravagant afternoon tea with macarons and champagne, or catching the latest show at the Palais Garnier, all while wearing a magnificent pink tutu that whispers "chic" in every swish and twirl.

Speaking of tutus and performances, I just had to catch the final night of 'La Bayadère' at the Palais Garnier, with a cast of spectacular dancers that truly captivated my soul! A swirling symphony of colour, grace and power… it left me breathless! Imagine all those tutus, those costumes… like a riot of colour on stage! I swear, I was mesmerized from the first note of the orchestra to the last curtsy. They really don’t make shows like that anymore. Oh, the stories it tells, the emotion it stirs in your soul… it was a magical evening, especially with my sparkling pink tutu, you know?

But I wasn't just a passive observer this week. After all, a ballerina must keep her form! So, on Thursday, I enrolled in a private ballet class at the prestigious École de Danse. The instructor, a beautiful French ballerina with a regal bearing and the most perfect 'je ne sais quoi', reminded me that Parisian ballet demands both precision and finesse - an exhilarating blend of passion and controlled movement. It’s all about graceful lines, perfect extensions, and a fluid, effortless quality that is simply captivating. Oh, I absolutely adored it! She even gave me some personalized choreography to work on! And guess what I'll be wearing when I practice at home? Yep, a sparkly pink tutu!

Between all the dancing and shows, my journey wouldn’t be complete without a little bit of Parisian indulgence. There is simply nothing like a morning spent browsing the vintage boutiques of the Marais district. Imagine shelves crammed with fabulous fashion from decades past – exquisite gloves, headbands with feathers, glamorous handbags and the most amazing vintage hats! It’s a treasure trove for any style enthusiast! I swear, I found a pair of perfectly pristine pumps that matched my new tutu almost perfectly! What a find!

And who could resist a bit of pampering at a local Parisian patisserie? Indulging in decadent pastries with coffee, a scoop of vanilla ice cream adorned with raspberry sauce, all while sipping a little pink lemonade in a cafĂŠ with my favourite French bulldog perched next to me? Heaven! It doesn't get any more charming than that, my dear friends!

This trip to Paris has filled me with joy, a fresh wave of inspiration, and a new sense of wanderlust. But most importantly, it has reminded me of one thing: the joy and empowerment of wearing a pink tutu.

You see, my friends, a pink tutu is so much more than a piece of clothing. It's an invitation to embrace our femininity, to dance with joy and passion, and to believe in the magical power of self-expression.

I know many of you out there are shy about wearing tutus. But trust me, even if it seems silly or impractical at first, you’ll be surprised by how wearing a pink tutu will unlock something beautiful within you. It’s about confidence, self-love, and adding a touch of magic to your day. It’s a message that whispers “life is for the living”, “let’s have some fun” and “believe in yourself, you can fly”! And just wait until you see the envious stares from men and women! They just want to be you!

This week, why not join me? Wear your favourite pink tutu and embrace the world with a heart full of joy. Go on, give it a whirl!

Now, go and explore!

A bientot!

Love, Emma
