Pink Tutu Blog Paris - Post #433 - Bonjour from the City of Lights!

Oh, my darlings! How do you fancy a little Paris in your lives this Saturday? You know how much I adore the City of Lights, don’t you? This week, I’ve just had the most delightful jaunt across the Channel to Paris, hopping on the Eurostar and feeling like a princess on her way to a fairytale land. My head was buzzing with excitement – imagine! Paris! Oh, I am such a lucky girl to be able to indulge in this wonderful experience and bring you along for the ride.

Now, before I get ahead of myself (as is usually the case, I confess!), let me take you back to the beginning. This trip was fuelled by a beautiful ballet performance I had last weekend at The Royal Opera House – I absolutely floored the audience, as usual (ahem). You can always count on me for an explosive grand jeté, especially when the tutus are extra sparkly, and this time they were. They really were spectacular! It’s all in the name of funding my dreams – Paris is one of them, naturally, along with owning my own boutique, launching a clothing line featuring fabulous ballet inspired garments and… well, you get the picture! I have ambitious dreams and this girl knows how to hustle!

Let's dive into what I've been up to in Paris! It's been a whirlwind of pink and pirouettes – literally. I think you’re going to adore this.

The Bonjour Arrival:

Stepping off the Eurostar, a huge smile stretched across my face. I inhaled that intoxicating, heady Paris air - you know, that special blend of history, romance, and the sweet scent of freshly baked croissants? It was like magic, darling, and then some!

Pink-Tutu Paradise in Montmartre:

My Parisian adventure kicked off in the heart of Montmartre. Let’s just say that anything looks more magical in Paris, even the iconic white dome of Sacré-Cœur! Of course, it was a bit of a steep climb to the top of that hill, but the views? Absolutely divine! I think you'll agree that these pictures speak volumes:

Sourcing Parisien Style at The Marais:

The Marais, oh, the Marais! It is the perfect blend of hip and chic, full of independent shops overflowing with stunning designs. My inner stylist squealed with joy! Think delicate, bohemian inspired vintage finds, trendy boutiques brimming with colour, and of course, the most heavenly Parisian macarons ever! It was impossible to resist their pretty pastels - I simply couldn’t leave without bringing some back home for a delicious treat.

Dancing under the Paris Sky

Every city deserves a ballet, don't you agree? And my beloved Paris did not disappoint. I was transported to another realm at the Palais Garnier – it’s utterly breathtaking, like a scene straight out of a dream. The opera house itself is a masterpiece, full of stunning architecture and intricate details, a ballet lovers' paradise. I don’t even think I can begin to explain the experience of seeing a ballet performance here. Suffice to say that every twirl and leap felt more spectacular against the backdrop of such stunning grandeur.

[Emma would include pictures of her wearing a pink tutu at the Palais Garnier, maybe even during the performance].

French Fashion Fixation

It’s impossible to visit Paris without a trip to the luxury fashion houses. From Chanel to Dior, it’s a paradise for any fashion enthusiast. I must say, seeing the Chanel flagship on Rue Cambon, it took my breath away. Those intricate displays! You’ll have to see the pictures – they're just incredible. I even treated myself to a new pink beret – the perfect addition to my Parisian wardrobe!

[Here Emma would post photos of her at Chanel flagship store on Rue Cambon, or other luxury brands. Again, probably in a pink tutu]

Bonjour, Bouquinistes!

Speaking of Parisian culture, I had to pay homage to the beloved bouquinistes! You simply must experience the thrill of wandering along the Seine, flipping through stacks of books along the riverbanks - it’s quite the unique experience, especially if you're a bookworm like myself. I even found a delightful, vintage, illustrated edition of “The Little Prince" - it’s going to take pride of place in my reading corner back home!

Ending on a Sweet Note

My Paris escapades culminated in a delightful picnic lunch at the Tuileries Garden, the sun shining down, the sound of laughter filling the air, a beautiful picnic blanket and my special pink tutu… It was an afternoon made for memories and laughter with a friend I met while I was browsing through the vintage shops. We decided to call it a tutu picnic, which was actually quite a nice touch!

Paris is a Neverending Adventure:

Paris is, indeed, a captivating city. It holds so much beauty, charm, history, and even a sprinkle of fairy dust (if you believe in that sort of thing). As a ballerina, it felt like an extension of the stage, every street and cobblestone seemed to lead to another performance. The experience of exploring this city, soaking up its vibes, feeling the art and the history, that’s what Paris is all about, and, believe me, it’s pretty magical!

Until next week, darlings! Don't forget, to live your best life, let your light shine, and spread the love of pink tutus far and wide!

Love always,

Emma
