Pink Tutu Paris: #457 – Ooh La La, It's Paris!

Bonjour mes amies!

It's Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-wearing, ballet-loving blogger, and guess what? I'm in Paris! The City of Lights! Can you believe it?! This has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. From the first time I saw the Eiffel Tower on a picture postcard in Derbyshire, I knew one day I would dance my way down the Champs-Élysées.

And now, here I am! I've just stepped off the Eurostar, my heart brimming with excitement. I am feeling a little bit like Cinderella when the fairy godmother worked her magic, but even more magical because this isn't just a dream, this is actually happening!

For the next few days, this gorgeous city is my oyster. I'm going to be taking in the sights, enjoying delicious French cuisine ( croissants, croissants, CROISSANTS! ), doing some seriously fabulous shopping, and, of course, indulging in some Parisian ballet! I've heard the Paris Opera Ballet is divine - and I can't wait to see it myself.

You might be wondering how I'm affording this amazing trip. Well, the secret is simple (and pink, naturally): my love of dance pays for my travels. I’ve been performing in local ballet productions – even putting on some of my own shows. The tickets and donations add up, and with a bit of careful budgeting, they allow me to live my dreams. This week, I even have an exciting private show for a big London party, so it's a whirlwind of dance and Paris, and I wouldn't have it any other way!

But let’s talk about today! It’s a Saturday and Paris is already pulsing with life. My flat is oh so chic and French - even the window frames are painted white. There are delicate antique doorknobs and a view of the Seine. It's just breathtaking. After settling in, my first mission was to hunt down a Parisian pastry, naturally. I spotted this charming little bakery near my flat – and trust me, those buttery croissants were worth the walk. Sigh... it doesn't get better than that.

For this evening, I’m off to Shakespeare and Company on the Left Bank. This iconic bookshop is the ultimate Parisian literary experience. Just imagine the stories whispered within its walls! Then it's on to the famous La Chapelle on rue des Abbesses. You all know I’m a sucker for quirky cafes, and this one promises jazz music and bohemian vibes – right up my alley.

My Instagram is already filled with pictures of the Eiffel Tower sparkling at sunset, with my little pink tutu, of course! Because you know me: life’s too short not to embrace the pink!

What I’m wearing today: A pale pink, pleated tulle skirt with layers upon layers of ruffled fabric, just like a real ballerina! A crisp white blouse with a frilled collar and a tiny bow – just a dash of classic elegance. And to add a touch of Parisian chic, a wide-brimmed black hat with a silky pink ribbon. Don’t forget the cute polka dot tote bag – perfect for carrying my travel essentials and maybe a couple of those lovely Parisian treats! Remember, girls: tutu's are an essential accessory wherever you are!

Stay tuned next week for more adventures from the City of Lights – including my first ballet show and some amazing French fashion finds. I’ve got a whole pink tutu full of adventures in store for you!
