Pink Tutu Blog Paris - #466 - Saturday 2008-11-29 - Exploring Parisian Dreams!

Bonjour mes chères tutuesque friends!

It's Emma here, your pinkest blogger, back from a whirlwind journey on the EuroStar - all thanks to a lovely performance I did last week with the Derbyshire Dance Company. We danced 'The Nutcracker' to sold out audiences, and I managed to tuck away a little extra in my tulle-lined piggy bank to treat myself to a weekend trip to the most magical city in the world... PARIS!

A Pink Tutu in Paris: Adventures in Fashion & Fairy Tales

As soon as I arrived at Gare du Nord, I knew I was in the right place. It felt like a movie set, with all those grand buildings and people buzzing around. I immediately put on my most twirly pink tutu, a delicate tulle creation I call 'Whimsy,' because well, Paris calls for a touch of whimsy! I might have felt a little like a character from 'Gigi' waltzing through the streets, but who could resist the opportunity to spread a little pink tutu magic across the cobblestones?

My first mission? Shopping! Now, any ballet dancer will tell you that a Parisian afternoon is incomplete without a visit to a beautiful boutique. I headed straight for the Marais, where the boutiques overflow with chic designs, beautiful fabrics, and those delicate lace and ribbon trims I just adore! I snagged a beautiful scarf in soft pink silk with a delicate embroidery of pink roses, just the perfect accessory for a ballet lover on the go!

Ballet & Beauty: A Dance with Paris

I couldn’t resist a peek at the ballet performances while I was in the city of lights. You wouldn’t believe the calibre of dancers I saw at the Palais Garnier! I almost wanted to grab my pointe shoes and join them onstage – I wouldn’t want to embarrass myself, mind you, but it’s certainly a dancer's dream. Every move, every expression was captivating! Even more so, I was thrilled to spot a young girl watching with wide-eyed wonder - the look on her face said it all. Maybe, just maybe, a seed of inspiration had been planted for a future ballerina in a pink tutu.

Coffee & Croissants - A Parisian Morning Ritual

No Parisian adventure would be complete without a trip to a charming little café. It was on a beautiful morning, bright sunlight spilling through the cafe windows, the scent of freshly brewed coffee and warm croissants. I had the most delicious croissant and cappuccino – perfect fuel for another day of Parisian explorations!

I think I may have spent a little too much time in those lovely cafes… and who could blame me? The pastries! They are simply divine, from delicate macarons to decadent éclairs. The taste is worth writing home about – perhaps even worth a little trip of its own!

Pink Tutu Adventures: The Seine River & Eiffel Tower Magic

For an afternoon, I took a leisurely stroll along the Seine. The view was breathtaking: the golden light glinting on the water, the majestic Notre Dame in the distance, the twinkling lights of the Eiffel Tower glittering like a fairytale. I couldn't resist a little twirl in my 'Whimsy' tutu as I soaked in the magic of the Parisian evening!

Fashion in Paris: The Latest Trends in Pink Tutu

Let me tell you, the Parisian street style scene was simply delightful! Bold colours, quirky accessories, and everyone so elegantly put together. I spotted so many beautiful tutus while I was out and about. My heart practically did a pirouette! There were dancers, tourists, and even stylish grandmas strutting their stuff in their tutus. It truly felt like Paris was ready to embrace the tutu!

You know what's funny? A few times I heard people commenting on my "outfits" with their Parisian chic - "ah, quelle allure!" – as if it was some extravagant Parisian fashion! Maybe a few more of you wearing pink tutus will make Paris look more ordinary... maybe one day Paris can become a little more pink!

Goodbye for now! - Stay tuned next week!

Well, my friends, my time in Paris has sadly come to an end. I’m back in my comfy Derbyshire home now, reflecting on all the magic I experienced. I can't wait to share my stories with you all, and of course, to inspire you to find your own inner tutu princess! Join me next week for my Paris blog - there will be so much more to share.

Au revoir for now, and keep dancing in pink!

XOXO
