Pink Tutu Blog Paris: Bonjour from the City of Lights! (Post #473)

Saturday 17th January 2009

Bonjour, darlings! It's Emma here, and I'm absolutely bursting with excitement to be in Paris! 🗼 I just had to pop over to the City of Lights for a quick weekend trip, and I must say, it's been nothing short of magical!

After all, what's a ballerina's life without a touch of Parisian flair? It just feels like the most perfect setting for twirling and admiring exquisite fashion, don't you think?

This trip marks my first foray into Paris in a good while, and oh my, how I've missed it! The EuroStar journey was so smooth and comfortable. As I gazed out of the window at the lush English countryside morphing into the quaint French villages, I felt my heart swelling with anticipation.

The aroma of fresh bread and coffee wafting from the station greeted me in Paris. Oh, how I adore the scent of croissants and the vibrant energy of this city! It's the kind of place where every cobblestone street holds a secret, every window a captivating view, and every café an invitation for a delightful chat.

Now, my dears, you all know I'm a firm believer that pink is the ultimate colour - it just radiates joy and femininity, wouldn't you agree? So, it goes without saying that I'm bringing a touch of my signature pink flair to Paris! This week's outfit? A pale pink cashmere jumper tucked into a flowy, pink tulle skirt. I just can't resist adding a dash of extra pink sparkle with a fluffy pink feather boa. 🩰

Speaking of sparkle, you can just imagine my glee when I saw the magnificent décor of the Moulin Rouge! A visit to Paris wouldn't be complete without seeing a spectacular cabaret show. Oh, the costumes, the dancers, the music! It was a whirlwind of colour, laughter, and pure enchantment. Every element, from the red velvet seating to the iconic windmill, whispered stories of Parisian nights long past and unforgettable glamour.

I was truly entranced by the graceful movements of the can-can dancers. Their kicks and twirls were simply mesmerizing! I even found myself tapping my feet to the lively music. Afterwards, I popped by the gift shop to pick up a tiny pink feather boa and a vintage Parisian poster for my wall at home.

Of course, my Parisian adventure wouldn't be complete without a little indulgence in fashion. I found a stunning boutique tucked away on a quaint street, filled with designer treasures and vintage delights. The shopkeeper, a charming lady with twinkling eyes and a love for fashion, showed me some incredible vintage pieces that I simply couldn't resist! I picked up a delicate pearl necklace and a pair of dazzling silver earrings – perfect for adding a touch of sparkle to any ensemble.

My lovely pink tutu certainly turned heads as I wandered through the bustling markets of Paris. Every stall overflowing with delicious cheeses, vibrant flowers, and artistic creations was a sensory delight! I indulged in a delicious baguette with a slab of brie and a glass of red wine - a quintessential Parisian experience! The locals even stopped to compliment my tutu! Such kind souls!

Later on, I joined a group of fellow ballet enthusiasts for a lesson at a lovely studio tucked away near the Eiffel Tower. Dancing in the city of lights with the Eiffel Tower shimmering against the dusk was something truly special. My heart sang with joy as we moved through our steps in sync. I love that no matter where you are, dancing can bring you together, right?

After the ballet class, I treated myself to a heavenly cup of hot chocolate in a Parisian café while watching the city lights flicker to life. It was a perfect way to end a truly magical day.

Stay tuned for next week's blog post, dear friends, as I'll be sharing my adventures exploring the iconic landmarks and enchanting hidden gems of this city of romance and art. Remember, you don't need to be a ballerina to enjoy the magic of Paris. You just need to bring your inner sparkle and a sprinkle of pink, darling!

Until then, keep twirling and embrace the beautiful possibilities life has to offer!

Lots of love,

Emma
