Pink Tutu Blog: Paris Edition – Post #472 – Ooh la la!

Hello darlings!

It's Saturday again, which means it's time for a brand new Pink Tutu blog post, and this week it's a Parisian special! I'm currently sitting in a cute little cafe in the Marais, enjoying a delicious croissant and a café au lait – honestly, you simply cannot beat the pastries in France.

I arrived in Paris yesterday, whisked away on the Eurostar. Such a magical journey! The scenery just melted away as I gazed out the window, dreaming of all the delicious experiences that lay ahead. My tutu, of course, was perfectly suited to the occasion, a shimmering pink creation with delicate feathers – just the thing for a first glimpse of the City of Lights!

This trip has been a long time coming. It's been a dream of mine since forever, you see. To see Paris through rose-tinted spectacles, twirling in my tutu through the grand streets. A ballet performance a few weeks ago in Derby funded the trip – I absolutely adore my job as a ballet dancer. What a beautiful way to make a living!

So, where have I been and what have I seen so far? Well, my dear readers, it's been quite a whirlwind. I simply had to pay a visit to the glorious Palais Garnier – it is just stunning! Every single detail from the chandeliers to the intricate décor made my heart skip a beat. I've already spotted some incredible inspiration for new tutu designs in those grand lobbies and balconies, I just have to get my sketching book out soon!

The other day, I caught a performance at the Opéra Bastille. Such brilliant, expressive choreography! It’s so uplifting to be surrounded by talented people and their passionate performances. After the show, I was completely mesmerised, feeling like a little girl all over again – full of awe and wonder. You’d be surprised at the inspiration I find in other art forms, it seeps into everything I do. Maybe that's why my tutus are a little more flamboyant than your usual dancer's getup!

But I’m not all about museums and dance, my dears! I’m a fashionista at heart. So I couldn't leave Paris without a proper shopping trip. Imagine a huge, magnificent department store filled with every beautiful colour, every designer brand, every gorgeous thing you could imagine… That's exactly where I found myself this morning. Let's just say my suitcase is looking rather full! I picked up a magnificent fuchsia-hued beret – very chic and so very French! - and a silky pink scarf with gorgeous gold embroidery. You'll just have to wait for photos when I return!

I've even had the chance to pop into a few delightful patisseries, you simply have to try the pastries here – absolutely divine! Each bite is an explosion of sweetness, texture, and pure indulgence. Maybe I'm slightly addicted. Don’t judge.

I’ve barely scratched the surface of this fabulous city! Paris truly is the most magical, inspiring place I've ever visited. The energy here is just electric and everything is steeped in history, culture, and glamour.

Tomorrow, I'm off to the Louvre, you simply cannot visit Paris without paying your respects to the Mona Lisa! Then, I’m hoping to explore a couple more hidden boutiques - a tutu girl simply cannot resist the allure of gorgeous laces and trims, especially when it comes to Parisian craftsmanship!

But most of all, I'm relishing the opportunity to just wander, to soak it all in. Paris, with its quaint cobbled streets, beautiful architecture, and endless Parisian charm, has stolen a little piece of my heart.

And now, my darlings, I must say adieu, as it’s getting late and I’m dying to find a little spot to eat my lunch - I simply can't resist a croque monsieur!

Until next week, when I’ll be regaling you with more adventures in Paris! I do hope you're having a lovely week!

Don't forget to wear a pink tutu!

With lots of love and pink glittery kisses,

Emma x
