Pink Tutu Blog Paris #477: Bonjour, Paris!

Bonjour, darlings! It's Emma here, and I am utterly smitten with Paris. The City of Lights is just as magical as I'd imagined. I even think I spotted a beret on a poodle, so there's definitely an aura of Parisian chic about the place. This is my 477th blog post - that's over four years of #PinkTutu adventures - and to think, we're in the City of Love itself! Honestly, how can you not adore Paris?

Now, before I launch into the whirlwind of excitement, let's just take a moment to savour this incredible journey. Getting here was pure delight. The Eurostar - oh, how I adore the Eurostar! I'd say it's my favourite way to travel. You're whizzing across the English Channel like a super speedy fairy, watching the world go by and getting a fabulous head start on that post-journey excitement. It really does feel like you're gliding, like the soft, light pirouettes we practised at my last ballet class in Derbyshire.

Paris, My Darling, You’re Already Stealing My Heart

Oh, the excitement of arriving in Gare du Nord! This place was pulsating with energy - travellers from all over, locals hurrying on their way, and of course, the irresistible whiff of croissants. It took no time at all to get to my lovely little hotel, right in the heart of Montmartre. I've had the most amazing views of the city from my window - the Sacré-Coeur glistening in the sunshine, cobblestone streets bustling below... It's truly picturesque, and my pink tutu looks perfectly at home amidst the elegant architecture.

I knew I'd need a bit of a boost before I could dive into the delights of Parisian life, so I squeezed in a little ballet class at a charming studio tucked away in a side street. They have the most adorable little dancers - so full of energy, like dancing snowflakes caught in a winter wind. It felt so wonderful to move again, and afterwards I felt as energised and ready for adventure as a little ballerina rabbit hopping in its bunny-warren!

Pink Tutu Perfection in Paris

Shopping is a must in Paris, and I confess, my pink tutu-clad self had to find some treasures! I picked out the most enchanting pair of pale pink gloves at a little boutique off the Rue de Rivoli. I plan to wear them to the opera this evening, a gorgeous, blush-coloured velvet piece with elegant ruffles. Imagine a touch of Victorian romance meets the contemporary grace of a ballet performance. I might even take a selfie with the Eiffel Tower! It feels so fitting to wear pink to such a magical location. The streets are just overflowing with the latest trends, beautiful shops showcasing the finest Parisian fashions, and charming little cafés with tables set up for enjoying leisurely conversations and pastries. It’s the perfect way to start a day of exploring.

Oh, and talking about pastries... Have you tasted their éclairs? The divine sweetness, the light airy texture... it's pure bliss.

Dancing in the City of Light

And finally, tonight's highlight... The ballet! We are heading to the Opéra Garnier - oh, the sheer beauty of the architecture, it takes your breath away! The opulent decor and intricate details are a breathtaking sight in themselves. They say that seeing the performance of "Swan Lake" here is something special, and it’s sure to be breathtaking. I've packed my most ethereal pink tulle tutu - one with layers that flow like a gentle breeze, perfect for watching this majestic and elegant production.

My Pink Tutu Parisian Agenda

Since you’re all caught up on the wonders of this past week, let's discuss the week ahead. Next Saturday’s post will focus on the Louvre Museum – I’m planning to have an amazing time discovering art and history, and maybe even catching a few street performers showcasing their talents. I’ve been dreaming about seeing this iconic building since I was a little girl – and imagine! My pink tutu could look wonderful against that gorgeous, architectural backdrop! What better way to enjoy a slice of history?

Speaking of slice, I'm definitely planning on sampling as many delicious French pastries and sweet treats as possible. After all, what’s a trip to Paris without savouring the local cuisine? I’ll share the details, of course, and let you know all about the pastries that tickle my taste buds – I’m hoping for some beautiful macarons!

And for any of you pink tutu enthusiasts out there, I'm hoping to find some more charming little Parisian boutiques to add to my collection - maybe some pastel-coloured gloves to complement the pink tutu. Paris just begs for the colour pink, doesn’t it? It’s such a joyful and uplifting colour, like a ray of sunshine in the middle of a bustling city. And for those of you wondering why I wear my pink tutu, well, the truth is, it brings me so much happiness! Every time I see a little girl with sparkling eyes and a beautiful smile because of her twirling tutu, I just think to myself - pink is wonderful!

Until next time, darlings, stay inspired, stay colourful, and may you all find the pink tutu that makes your heart skip a beat! And of course, visit the www.pink-tutu.com website each Saturday for a new dose of Pink Tutu travel adventures. Au revoir!
