Pink Tutu Paris - Post #495: Bonjour from the City of Lights!

Well, hello darlings! It's Saturday, June 20th, and your favourite pink-tutu-clad ballerina is in the most fabulous city on Earth – Paris! I'm practically floating on air (not to be confused with actually floating in my tutu
 I’m working on that, though!).

The journey here was absolutely dreamy, of course. The EuroStar, you see, is such a luxurious way to travel. The plush red seats, the chic champagne and canapés (served in real china!), and, best of all, no boring queues at passport control! As soon as we pulled into Gare du Nord, I could just feel the magic of Paris buzzing around me. I felt the undeniable urge to spin a pirouette (which, thankfully, I managed to hold back).

Our apartment is in Montmartre, a darling little hilltop neighbourhood known for its bohemian vibe and, of course, the SacrĂ©-Coeur Basilica. Can you believe it’s only a 10-minute walk from our front door? It’s just beautiful – a towering white monument with the most dazzling view over Paris. I actually stood there with my nose pressed against the stone and just gazed at the rooftops, all spread out before me, bathed in golden sunshine. It was simply magical! I felt like I’d been transported into a movie, perhaps "An American in Paris", though with much more pink, obviously!

But back to the main attraction, darlings
 Pink tutus in Paris!

Honestly, it’s the perfect match. Parisian fashion is known for its effortless chic, with delicate lace, elegant flowing silhouettes, and colours like charcoal grey and pale beige. And it just goes so well with pink, don't you think? My little pink tutu is turning heads on every cobbled street corner and under the arch of the Eiffel Tower, let me tell you. Everyone stares and smiles – it's delightful. They look like they’re thinking, “Well, this is Paris – anything goes!”, and I must agree with them!

Now, it wouldn’t be a Paris adventure without a little indulgence in all the wonders that the city has to offer. And let’s be honest, there’s no city in the world with more fantastic shopping. So, on Wednesday, I decided to go on a shopping spree around the gorgeous boutique in Saint-Germain-des-Prùs. Honestly, there was enough beautiful jewellery, clothing, and shoes to satisfy even the most demanding ballerina (me, obviously!).

After a few hours of trying on everything from flowing linen dresses to little black shoes, I finally made my way to CafĂ© de Flore. Let's just say I needed a bit of a pick-me-up after the retail therapy – or maybe I needed to indulge in the most delicious pastry in all of France. It's practically mandatory, right? It was absolutely perfect – buttery flaky croissants, soft, decadent chocolate Ă©clairs, and creamy coffee. Divine!

Of course, no trip to Paris is complete without taking in some of the breathtaking art that fills the Louvre, the MusĂ©e d’Orsay, and the Pompidou Centre. The art museums here truly inspire – the colours, the brushstrokes, the raw emotion! They definitely inspire me to paint, too (although, sadly, not with quite the same artistic flair).

On Thursday evening, we had the most wonderful experience – an exclusive invitation to see “La Traviata” at the Palais Garnier Opera House! Oh my, it was stunning. The interior of this opera house is magnificent! I felt as if I’d stepped into a time machine, transported back to a time of golden chandeliers and red velvet curtains, all that opulence! The show was even more dazzling!

I don’t want to spoil it for you all, so let's just say it was a very impressive display of singing and acting with an added twist of melodrama that definitely got those tissues working! I especially loved the incredible costumes and the majestic sets – they truly brought the story to life. The whole experience just left me speechless
until, of course, I saw the gift shop, full of exquisite costume jewellery and accessories. The sparkly, theatrical pink bow for my hair was irresistible, don’t you agree? It’ll go perfectly with my pink tutu!

So, here we are in Paris, the City of Love, and we are having a splendid time. We have made it to Friday night, and the weekend has arrived!

I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for the very best pink tutu shops and taking photos with the most iconic Parisian landmarks for all of you to see.

Stay tuned next Saturday for another Pink Tutu Paris adventure.

Until next week,

Emma xxx
