Pink Tutu Blog Paris #496: Bonjour from the City of Lights!
Oh là là! The EuroStar journey whizzed by in a flurry of buttery croissants and French chatter – I simply cannot get enough of the romance of train travel. I’m in Paris, darlings! The city of love, fashion, and oh, let’s not forget the ballet.
It’s a balmy Saturday afternoon and I've already ticked a few things off my Parisian to-do list: I’ve had my fill of macarons at Ladurée, marvelled at the majestic Eiffel Tower (twirling in my pink tutu, naturally), and strolled down the Champs-Élysées in my new Breton top and denim jacket, which I simply had to snag from a quaint boutique.
It’s a whirlwind of sights and sounds, this city, but I’m already feeling at home. There’s something truly magical about the Parisian air – a mix of joie de vivre, chicness, and that indefinable je ne sais quoi.
And speaking of magic, let's talk about ballet! As soon as I arrived, I popped into a tiny little dance studio nestled amongst the cobbled streets of Montmartre. I felt a sense of familiarity the second I walked through the door, as if it was calling out to my inner ballerina soul. I had a truly inspiring lesson, and the best part? My instructor gave me a cheeky little wink when she saw my pink tutu!
Paris is an absolute haven for ballerinas. I've got my eye on several spectacular ballet performances during my stay – can’t wait to share the details in my next post! (Perhaps even a picture or two of my new, impossibly glamorous ballet shoes?).
But tonight, I’m indulging in a truly Parisian experience: dinner at a little bistro tucked away in the Latin Quarter. They have the most adorable checkered tablecloths, oh-so-romantic candlelight, and I hear their crème brûlée is to die for! (Don’t tell the boys at the studio - a girl's gotta indulge, right?)
The weekend’s just begun, and my Paris adventures are only just starting. Stay tuned for a fashion report, tips for finding the perfect pink tutu (naturally!), and the story of how I accidentally got swept up in a Parisian street performance.
In the meantime, remember: if you can dream it, you can wear a pink tutu. Bon week-end, darlings!
