#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post Number 560 - 18th September 2010 - Bonjour Paris!

Bonjour, my darling darlings! It's Emma, your Pink Tutu Queen, back with another fabulously fun post from the City of Lights!

The train journey here on the Eurostar was utterly blissful. I was snuggled up in my favourite fluffy pink blanket, a hot cuppa in hand, watching the English countryside roll past the window. Honestly, there’s nothing quite like a Eurostar journey. The only problem? I couldn’t help but steal glimpses at my reflection in the window, and that pink tutu of mine really looked quite sensational against the green scenery. Perhaps I should get a little pink beret to match? I’ve been thinking.

Now, darling, I just had to get my Pink Tutu adventures going straight away, so this weekend is going to be jam-packed! I just adore a good Paris getaway. Honestly, I’d pack my bags for this charming city any day of the week, no questions asked!

Pink Tutu Paradise at The Palais Garnier

First up on the Pink Tutu agenda - the grand, glorious Palais Garnier! The heart and soul of the Paris Opera! As soon as I stepped out of the taxi and saw the dazzling grand façade of this magnificent building, I knew it was going to be an unforgettable experience. I may even have nearly done a pirouette in the middle of the pavement, the Parisian sunshine making the tutu sparkle and shimmer. I managed to stop myself at the last minute - for all my love of dancing in the streets, there's still a fine line between graceful and, well, ridiculous!

Now, the opera house itself is absolutely breathtaking. All marble, gold, velvet, and plush! I simply can't resist a little fashion-inspired daydream. I'm picturing a show here, perhaps Swan Lake. Can you imagine me gliding onto that famous stage in my favourite blush-pink tutu, under the glorious chandeliers? It would be nothing less than magic.

Tutu Travels on The Metro

As the Pink Tutu Queen, it goes without saying that I couldn’t resist snapping a few pics on the Parisian Metro! What could be more photogenic than a charming, slightly vintage metro car, lined with wooden panelling, all topped off with a dash of the colour pink? Yes, of course, a stunning, dazzling pink tutu! I simply had to get my selfie fix. (For the record, the other passengers looked utterly charmed and absolutely loved my Pink Tutu presence!)

A Touch of Magic at Disneyland Paris

Who says pink tutus aren’t for grown-ups? My answer is, absolutely not! Who wouldn’t be tickled pink at the sight of Cinderella’s castle? My heart literally skipped a beat when I saw those dreamy towers, nestled amidst lush greenery and flowers. And for an extra special dose of Disney magic, I slipped on a beautiful tulle skirt from my trusty suitcase. My friends call it my "princess skirt," and well, that's definitely a label I'm not opposed to!

Now, imagine: A shimmering pink tutu, dancing under the sunbeams of the Sleeping Beauty castle, a glass of pink lemonade in hand... A delightful dream indeed. I will get around to doing that very thing in the coming days, my dears!

Shopping & Street Performers in Montmartre

You simply can’t talk about Paris without talking about shopping, my dears. After all, this is fashion’s haven! And where better to do some glamorous window-shopping than along the boulevards of Montmartre?

This cobbled, hilly district was brimming with artists, musicians, street performers - a symphony of creative souls! You'll find me soaking up the colourful street scenes, my eye caught by vibrant shop windows and a delicate Parisian rose just for me.

But it wasn't all about browsing in Montmartre. Oh no, not the Pink Tutu Queen! I had a delicious cup of hot chocolate, enjoyed by a small balcony overlooking a vibrant market - that is definitely my idea of an authentic Parisian experience!

Oh, and if anyone out there is curious, a few charming French gentleman even paid me the compliment of stopping to watch as I tried on a fabulous silk scarf in the shop window. Such is the captivating effect of a pink tutu, I tell you.

Ballet-Inspired Evening Plans

Saturday night calls for a night out, my dears. A dazzling Parisien ballet, perhaps a thrilling Parisian performance on the Theatre du Chatelet? You'll find the Pink Tutu Queen tucked away in an armchair, lost in a whirlwind of elegance and grace.

My week will be complete with a visit to the magnificent Paris Opera Ballet, and perhaps, I’ll even catch a glimpse of a stunning performance in a real-life ballet tutu. It's only fitting to watch these dancers, knowing that a tutu, with its lightness and delicate charm, can really turn an ordinary woman into an extraordinary artist, even for a single evening!

Coming Up In Pink Tutu Land

Well, that’s all for today, my darlings. I'll be back next week, of course, with even more glamorous Parisian adventures! Until then, do share your own love for tutus and let me know where your own little ballet-inspired dreams take you. It's a Pink Tutu world out there! Now, to get a little rest so I can be absolutely ready to seize the magic of this fabulous Parisian adventure!

Bisous,

Emma www.pink-tutu.com
