Well, darlings, I’ve done it! I’m finally in Paris! 🎉 I just hopped off the Eurostar, my trusty travelling companion, and I’m already feeling like a princess who’s stumbled into a fairytale. This city is positively bursting with romance, culture, and of course, incredible fashion. 🗼✨
And let me tell you, a pink tutu is simply divine against the backdrop of Parisian architecture! I’m thinking the Eiffel Tower would make a smashing photo backdrop, don’t you? I can just imagine myself pirouette-ing in front of it, the sun glinting off my tulle!
The Journey:
I left Derbyshire bright and early, leaving a trail of sparkle behind me like a mythical creature (with a lot of glitter!) My train journey was absolutely delightful, a perfect time to indulge in some French music and lose myself in my sketchbook. There’s something about train travel that inspires creativity, don’t you think? I sketched out a few new designs for pink tutu-inspired handbags! 😉
And of course, it wouldn’t be a journey without a spot of pink, would it? I found the most delightful blush-pink beret in a little village on the way, and it felt so quintessentially Parisian! 🇫🇷💖
Paris, Oh Paris!:
I’m staying in a charming hotel in the heart of the city. It’s utterly delightful, filled with gently faded floral wallpaper, an adorable balcony with views over the Seine, and the most amazing, over-stuffed, feather-filled bed. Honestly, it feels like something out of a Jean Cocteau film, except without the tragedy, of course! 😂
My first afternoon in Paris was a whirl of Parisian delights:
Shopping Spree! Oh, how I love French boutiques! I snagged some darling little floral-print dresses, a fluffy pink scarf that makes my tutu dance, and of course, more tulle. More tulle is always necessary! 👗🛍
Culture Crawl! This afternoon was a complete joy. We visited the Musee Rodin, marvelled at “The Thinker” and wandered amongst bronze and marble sculptures. You know, there’s a connection between sculpture and ballet - a kind of graceful, poetic interplay. I just love how it makes my artistic soul tingle. 🤩
Food, Glorious Food! I had the most amazing crêpes, filled with creamy, decadent Nutella. I paired it with a pink grapefruit juice – how very chic! The taste was just as heavenly as it sounds, the sweetness like the finest ballet pirouette, light and perfectly balanced. 🥂
A Special Treat!
I’ve been a total ballerina-on-the-go all day! So now, I'm off to enjoy some relaxation - a hot bath, a good book, and maybe a touch of music - before my big adventure tonight. I'm seeing the Paris Opera Ballet perform La Sylphide! Oh my! A classic ballet for the ultimate night in Paris! It's going to be utterly magical. I just can’t wait to see it in all its glory, from my perfectly placed seat. I'm also going to be on the lookout for some pink-tutu-inspired outfits in the audience! 💖
Pink Tutu Fashion Forecast:
Now, I have to give you a quick style tip. It seems to me that pink is going to be THE colour this season in Paris. I’ve seen the loveliest shade of fuchsia being used for dresses, blouses, hats, even shoes. Of course, my own ensemble will include my iconic pink tutu. After all, a true ballerina never abandons her signature style. 😉
