Paris, je t'aime! 🇫🇷💕 (Post #585)

Bonjour mes chères tutufilles! It's Emma, your resident pink-tutu-clad ballerina extraordinaire, writing to you live from the City of Lights - Paris! This week, I took the EuroStar, that magical train that whisks you away to Parisian dreams in a flash, and arrived with my trusty pink tutu bag overflowing with exciting plans.

Remember how I told you I’d be saving every penny from my performances to afford my Parisian adventure? Well, let's just say, my efforts have paid off in spades! Now, hold on tight as I whisk you through the whirlwind that was my last 7 days, with all its magical ballet shows, chic Parisian boutiques, and oh-so-French food.

A Parisian Ballet Blitz

Every trip to Paris MUST include a visit to the Palais Garnier! That breathtaking opera house is simply stunning - I almost couldn’t believe it wasn’t a movie set. My jaw actually dropped when I saw the grand staircase, glittering in all its gilded glory. And as for the ballet, well, it was absolutely heavenly. I was mesmerized by the graceful movements, the captivating storytelling through dance, and of course, the breathtaking costumes - there were some spectacular tutus, but sadly, none in pink this time! I may have even been spotted with a tear or two in my eye, such was the emotion and beauty of the performance.

My Paris adventure also led me to the Musée Rodin. Now, if you haven’t experienced the magic of Rodin's sculpture, "The Thinker", then you’re truly missing out. This iconic statue captures so much of the human spirit. But, to be honest, the entire museum was just utterly breathtaking. I must confess, there was also a little dance inspiration woven through the pieces - "The Kiss", in particular, gave me some lovely inspiration for a new contemporary ballet routine! I’m thinking of creating a piece celebrating love and acceptance, just like the sculpture portrays.

Fashionably French: A Chic Boutique Tour

No Parisian adventure would be complete without some serious retail therapy, am I right? I must admit, I spent most of the time in the iconic shops on Avenue des Champs-Élysées, completely surrounded by the world's best designers. It was heavenly. While I had my heart set on some lovely Parisian designer labels, I did also come across some delightful hidden treasures in the boutiques around Montmartre, hidden away down charming alleyways. I picked up a little black dress, the perfect silhouette for showcasing my new pink tutu as I danced through the streets of Paris. You can bet it was an absolute showstopper!

Pink Tutu Adventures: Exploring Paris in Style

Of course, no Parisian adventure would be complete without exploring all the iconic landmarks, like the Eiffel Tower. My first impression? The tower truly does live up to its fame. It's so majestic and breathtaking. And of course, I couldn’t miss a photo with my pink tutu against the incredible Eiffel Tower backdrop. Let’s just say, it was truly the perfect "Instagram-worthy" moment!

I also ventured to the Louvre to take a look at "The Mona Lisa", something I’d always dreamed of doing. Honestly, the portrait is far smaller than I expected! That day, I discovered an incredible book at Shakespeare & Company, tucked away in the heart of the Latin Quarter. It was a little coffee table book with drawings of vintage tutus, with the most fantastic sketches and gorgeous images - a real collectors’ item! I think I might get my pink tutu designed using some of the images. How fabulous would that be?

A Farewell To Paris, But Only For Now

My last night in Paris involved the most beautiful street performer I’d ever seen. Imagine, this graceful girl, all dressed in black, dancing in a tiny clearing in a Parisian courtyard - there was a small crowd gathered around her. She moved so powerfully, so gracefully - truly a reminder that magic can be found in unexpected places! There were more tears welling up at this incredible display of raw, artistic talent.

But Paris, as wonderful as you were, it’s time to say ‘au revoir’ for now. My pink tutu is itching to explore the world, to grace the streets of other incredible cities. Maybe London? New York? Perhaps I will have a dance with the Spanish flamenco in Seville? Or explore the land of ballet with a tour of Russia. There are so many opportunities waiting for a ballerina extraordinaire like myself! Don't worry, though - I'll be back in Paris as soon as possible to soak up the Parisian magic once more.

Until next Saturday, darling tutufilles, don’t forget to stay pink and twirl on!

XOXO

Emma

It might be time to talk about my newest tutu creation, an absolutely glorious neon pink tutu with sparkling silver accents - ready for any Parisian occasion! You’re going to adore it, I just know it!
