Pink Tutu Paris - Post 590: Ooh la la! Paris is calling! 🌸🗼

Bonjour mes chères! Emma here, back from my whirlwind jaunt to the City of Lights, with my usual sartorial explosion of pink tutu magic! This week, I took the fabulous Eurostar from Derby to Paris, fuelled by the dream of swirling my tulle skirt around the Eiffel Tower! It’s been a while since I graced the Parisian pavements, but as I always say, it's never too late to channel your inner Parisian ballerina!

This post marks the fifth in my Pink Tutu Paris blog series, and believe me, my darlings, each week has been filled with adventures worthy of a hundred tulle-filled blogs! I always get a thrill out of embarking on a new journey – the rush of anticipation is a glorious ballet in itself, complete with its own pirouettes of excitement!

This trip was all about dancing through the Parisian streets in the springtime sunshine. Every corner felt like a stage, and my trusty tutu provided the perfect stage costume! From the moment the Eurostar screeched to a halt, Paris unfolded before me in all its beauty. I swear, even the air smelled like freshly baked pastries and Parisian elegance.

Friday - An Unforgettable Evening at the Theatre

Friday night was the highlight! I snagged the most coveted tickets to see a stunning performance of "La Bayadère" at the Opéra Garnier. Can you imagine my excitement?! It was breathtaking – the dancers were absolutely divine! The choreography, the costumes, the atmosphere… it transported me to a world of sheer enchantment. The theatre itself is magnificent – an ornate masterpiece with gold and crystal detailing – it felt like I had stepped straight into a ballet dream. I’m sure my tutu and I were twirling in harmony, absorbing every graceful gesture and powerful leap on that stage! It was just glorious, my lovelies!

Saturday - Walking the Parisian Catwalk

The French really know how to walk their talk! On Saturday morning, I did just that – literally! It was a gorgeous sunny day – the perfect excuse for a long stroll around the charming cobbled streets and exploring hidden courtyards and gardens. I even squeezed in a few practice fouettes (did anyone spot me?!) between trying on new shoes. There are some truly extraordinary boutiques tucked away in Paris – the kind that would make even a veteran ballet shoe enthusiast's heart skip a beat. And speaking of shoes… I might have indulged in a pair of the most exquisite Parisian flats adorned with an exquisite butterfly design – oh, the joy of finding the perfect pair of shoes that sing alongside your inner tutu ballerina!

Shopping & Scones - A Perfect Blend of Fashion & Culture

After a delightful brunch, I headed to the charming Marais district – it’s my go-to spot for designer shopping and trendy cafes! Did I mention the cafes here are heavenly? Between browsing through racks of stylishly cut clothing (of course, in various shades of pink!), I indulged in delicious petits gateaux and coffee – it’s impossible not to feel a little chic while you’re here! The atmosphere, the energy, the clothes… everything just hummed with creativity, and that’s something I absolutely adore.

The best part? The Marais district boasts a whole treasure trove of vintage stores and markets. If there's a hidden corner of Parisian vintage treasure that will speak to your soul – you’ll find it here!

Evening Bliss & Reflections on the Seine

As the sun began to set, casting the Parisian sky in hues of pink and purple (it wouldn’t be a Pink Tutu Paris adventure without a little pink, now would it?), I took a relaxing stroll along the Seine. As I sat on the edge of the embankment, watching the light dances upon the rippling waters, I thought about how much I truly love Paris. It's a place where dreams are spun, where art and beauty come together in a magical pas de deux.

And let's not forget – it's a place where you can absolutely wear a tutu without batting an eyelid. Well, maybe a quick relevé and a couple of tours in the air as you skip through the bustling city centre.
