Paris, Je T'aime! 💖 (Post #699)

Hello my darling readers, and welcome back to the Pink Tutu Blog! It's Emma here, fresh from a whirlwind trip to the most romantic city in the world - Paris! 🗼

I know, I know, what’s a ballet girl doing in Paris on a Saturday, right? Well, dear readers, it’s all thanks to my incredible schedule juggling my passion for dance with my insatiable travel bug. This week, I swapped my regular dance classes in Derbyshire for a special performance with a touring company - a performance which brought me face-to-face with the Eiffel Tower and all the incredible delights Paris has to offer!

And I wouldn't dream of going to Paris without a little sartorial flair. Oh, my sweet readers, my new pink tutu from Harrods is simply divine. I’m certain it stopped traffic as I twirled through Gare du Nord with my matching pink suitcase and my favourite pair of ballet shoes, because you never know, that cute Parisian garçon might be looking! ✨

Speaking of travelling in style, my Eurostar journey was as smooth as silk. I simply adored watching the countryside zoom past, my mind already dancing with ideas for this week's post. Of course, no train journey is complete without a little light reading, and mine was filled with the most fabulous fashion magazines - those outfits were simply begging to be replicated, and you bet your bottom dollar I'm adding them to my Pink Tutu Blog shopping list! 🛍️

Right, I've said enough, let’s get into it! Here's how my Paris adventure unfolded...

A Parisian Picnic

The sun was shining bright on this particular Saturday in May (yes, a glorious 18th of May it was!) and after my Eurostar adventure, it was straight to a beautiful park just around the corner from my charming hotel. This was the perfect place to enjoy a little picnic while taking in all the sights and sounds of the City of Lights. The scent of fresh croissants and the gentle breeze carrying the sound of laughter – I felt like I'd stepped into a postcard. 🥐

But you know me, my lovelies, I never forget my tutu. I did a few little pirouettes for the admiring gaze of some cute little French children who squealed with delight. 👧🏻🧒🏼 My dear readers, it’s true what they say - the French are truly passionate about ballet, even the smallest tots!

A Trip to the Opera

I'd been dying to catch a show at the Palais Garnier - the Paris Opera - for ages. I'm absolutely obsessed with its grand architecture and the sheer spectacle of its productions, and Saturday was the perfect time for me to finally experience it firsthand. I donned my favourite black satin opera gloves (a gift from my Nana!) and made sure my pink tutu twirled flawlessly under my blush pink silk skirt, ready for the magic of ballet. 🩰

And the magic truly delivered. It was breathtaking. The dancers were divine, their movements so fluid, the costumes so dazzling - my heart almost skipped a beat as I watched. Oh, the music! It filled the room with a feeling of wonder and joy that left me feeling truly, utterly enchanted. 🎻

A Fashion Fix

Now, no trip to Paris is complete without some serious shopping, right? After a performance worthy of a thousand likes (or perhaps even more!) it was time to indulge in a spot of retail therapy! I was particularly captivated by the iconic Parisian boutiques along the Champs-Élysées - it's just too easy to fall in love with a gorgeous dress, and in Paris, it feels perfectly natural! 💃🏻

There were just too many gorgeous shops and treasures to fit in a single day - a perfect excuse for a repeat visit, right? 😉

But I'm getting carried away. The point is, I fell head-over-heels for Parisian fashion, and I even managed to snag a few gorgeous additions to my ballet wardrobe. I am obsessed with this incredible little pink tulle skirt - it perfectly accentuates the pink tulle tutu of course! The soft fabrics, the elegant silhouettes, the vibrant colours – I could spend hours in those boutiques, my darlings! 🛍️

A Bite of Paris

A day in Paris, in my book, must be complete with an evening spent devouring the best of French cuisine. I chose a cosy little bistro tucked away down a side street - the kind of place that serves authentic, hearty French fare that’ll truly melt your heart (and fill your tummy!)

The most important ingredient for me, though? A large glass of rosé - a toast to all my amazing adventures. There’s no place in the world like Paris for that feeling of joie de vivre - you really have to experience it for yourselves to fully grasp it! 🥂

Pink Tutu Diaries - Paris Chapter

There you have it, my dearies, a little snapshot of my adventures in the city of love. It's hard to explain the energy that vibrates through the city, but it's magical, enchanting, and something every ballerina must experience!

Oh, and my secret to keeping my love for ballet intertwined with my wanderlust? Simple, darling. Every performance is an investment, both for the passion and the pennies. I save for each and every travel adventure - from the little jaunt across the country for a weekend getaway to a grand voyage like my trip to Paris. It's the dream, darlings, and I'm living it one twirl at a time!

So what have I learned this week?

  1. Paris is truly the city of love, but don't just take my word for it. Come experience the magic of Paris and see for yourselves!
  2. It's amazing how the beauty of ballet can be found anywhere, from a picnic in a Parisian park to a performance on a grand stage.
  3. It's absolutely vital to have a stunning wardrobe for a trip to Paris - you never know when you'll find yourself being adored by an admirer (like me!) 😉

This little Pink Tutu Diary is full to the brim with Paris loveliness, my sweet darlings. I hope I’ve inspired you to chase your dreams, embrace your style, and travel to this iconic city! 💖

And, of course, remember, *pink tutus are the ultimate fashion statement, wherever you may find yourself! *

Until next week, my darlings. Emma.
