Pink Tutu Paris: Bonjour from the City of Lights! (Post #711)
Saturday, 10th August, 2013
Bonjour, darlings! It's Emma from the Pink Tutu, reporting live from the magical, mesmerizing city of Paris!
As you know, this week marks the start of my Parisian adventure – and let me tell you, I am absolutely swooning over everything. From the chic, charming cobblestone streets to the exquisite pastry shops and, of course, the divine fashion - it’s a ballet lover's paradise!
From Derbyshire to the EuroStar - The Journey Begins
This week, I bid farewell to the lush greenery of Derbyshire and boarded the luxurious Eurostar train. I confess, travelling by train always feels extra special to me - especially when I get to wear my pink tulle dress. I just feel so fancy, like I'm starring in my own ballet!
This journey was all the more delightful as I was dressed to the nines. Imagine this - my most perfect ballet-inspired outfit: a blush-pink tulle skirt with a delicate floral pattern, paired with a vintage silk blouse adorned with pearl buttons and an oversized wide-brimmed straw hat (I do love a bit of Parisian flair). The sun streamed through the train window, highlighting the sparkling glitter in my eyeshadow and reflecting off my cherry red ballet pumps – utter perfection, darling!
The journey to Paris was an absolute breeze. I lost myself in the beauty of the countryside, daydreaming about all the amazing sights and adventures awaiting me in this fabulous city. And speaking of sights, Paris does not disappoint…
A Touch of Romance on the Champs-Élysées
Arriving in the city, my first stop was the legendary Champs-Élysées. Oh my, just walking along that magnificent avenue, surrounded by all those beautiful shops, the Eiffel Tower glistening in the distance, the elegant Parisian ladies – it truly felt like I was living in a dream! The whole place has an air of romance, a feeling of excitement that is truly infectious.
Now, this wouldn't be a true Pink Tutu adventure without some ballet magic, would it? This evening, I’m treating myself to the ballet "La Sylphide" at the exquisite Palais Garnier. It's a performance that celebrates ethereal grace and lightheartedness - something that perfectly matches my own joie de vivre!
Shopping Extravaganza & Chic Delights
I simply cannot resist the lure of the City of Lights' incredible fashion scene. I've already visited some of my favourite haunts - including a quirky little boutique filled with vintage pieces, a divine haberdashery with every shade of ribbon you could imagine, and a department store that could quite frankly satisfy my wardrobe desires for a lifetime. I just had to snap up a few irresistible items – a classic black and white striped Breton top, a stylish fedora with a blush-pink feather, and a stunning silk scarf with Parisian motifs (perfect for adding that Parisian flair to any outfit!).
This trip is already so much more than I ever imagined, and I can’t wait to share the next few days' adventures with you! We'll explore the enchanting Louvre, have picnics along the Seine, indulge in the best Parisian pastry shops, and find the perfect café for a spot of people watching (all whilst, of course, showcasing some seriously fabulous outfits).
Keep it pink, and I'll see you back next Saturday!
Love always, Emma
