#PinkTutuBlogParis - Saturday 2013-08-03: Ooh La La, Paris!

Bonjour mes amies!

Welcome back to Pink-Tutu.com, where dreams of pink tutus and Parisian adventures swirl like a delicate arabesque. Today marks post number 710, and this week I'm bursting with excitement to share my first glimpse of the City of Lights!

I packed my pinkest tutu and my most dazzling collection of ballerina flats, because this week I'm waltzing through Paris!

Train Tracks to Tutu Travels

Now, I wouldn't be me if I didn't mention how I got here. For a London girl like me, the Eurostar is my personal magic carpet. Who needs a spell when you've got the thrill of zipping through the Channel Tunnel and arriving in Paris in just over two hours? The French countryside rushes by the windows in a blur of green and grey, making me feel like I'm dancing in a storybook.

Finding My Feet in Paris

This week has been a whirlwind of exploration, fuelled by pastries, coffee, and an insatiable thirst for Parisian elegance. I arrived at Gare du Nord feeling like I'd just stepped into a film. And who am I to argue with fate when a charming French gentleman even helped me navigate the bustling platform with a cheeky wink? It's like I was instantly transported to the pages of a vintage French romance novel!

Shopping and Shopping and More Shopping

Okay, let's talk about the shopping. My dearest girls, let me tell you, Paris is a wonderland for any tutu-wearing fashionista. From the cobbled streets of the Marais to the chic boulevards of the Champs-Élysées, the city is practically an outdoor ballet. I've spent hours wandering through vintage boutiques, marveling at the designer clothes in the Galerie Lafayette, and getting lost in the vibrant world of the Marché des Puces.

One particular treasure I discovered this week was a little hidden boutique tucked away in Montmartre. Imagine, rows of beautiful vintage clothes from the 1950s - perfectly suited to my love of all things ballerina and fifties chic! I even found a gorgeous baby pink blouse with tiny pink floral detailing. You'll just have to wait for my next post to see my Paris-inspired outfits!

On This Very Date...

Now, today, Saturday, August 3rd, is a particularly special day in Parisian history. In 1870, Paris was declared the capital of France, cementing its place as a symbol of art, fashion, and romance. It was a day I just had to be in the city for, feeling the pulse of its rich history. I walked through the Tuileries Gardens, marvelling at the elegant French gardens and the breathtaking Louvre towering above them.

The Magic of a Parisian Evening

As the sun started to set, I took a stroll across the Seine and found myself right in front of the Eiffel Tower. You can imagine how breathtaking it was! With the city bathed in golden light and the Eiffel Tower glistening like a fairy tale castle, it was a magical experience.

The whole city feels like a stage for a ballet, and I can't wait to spend my evenings discovering the many amazing theatres and performances that Paris offers. From the Moulin Rouge, with its scandalous can-can, to the Opéra Garnier, with its exquisite ballets, I'm eager to be whisked away into a world of music and spectacle. I'm even thinking about signing up for a ballet class at one of the famous Paris dance schools - wouldn't that be fabulous?

And the pink tutu, you ask?

Naturally, I've been wearing my trusty pink tutu everywhere I go in Paris. The Parisian style may be all about chic, minimalist elegance, but you know me – I love to make a statement. I’ve even spotted a few curious glances and smiles from fellow tourists and Parisians alike. Perhaps I’m already inspiring them to join the pink tutu revolution? I like to think so!

This is just the beginning of my Parisian adventure, and there are still so many places to see, people to meet, and dances to perform! So, make sure you pop back next Saturday for more adventures in the City of Lights!

A Final Note from Derbyshire to Paris

Before I go, I just want to say how incredibly grateful I am to you all for supporting me and my little Pink-Tutu blog. It means the world to me to know you're with me on every journey, and I hope I continue to inspire you with my love for pink, ballet, and everything beautiful in life. Now, excuse me, I've got a very special Parisian coffee date with my best friend in a charming little café! Au revoir mes amies!

Until next Saturday,

Emma www.pink-tutu.com
