Pink Tutu Blog - Paris, Post #719 - Saturday 5th October 2013: Bonjour from the City of Lights!

Hello, darling! Welcome back to Pink Tutu Blog. I'm finally back in Paris! The city of romance, croissants and, yes, even tutus. You see, Paris has an amazing sense of theatre - so perfect for a pink tutu wearing girl like myself!

The Eurostar journey over was simply divine, even better with my trusty, pink vintage suitcase packed to the brim with my favourite Parisian outfits. The sheer thrill of gliding across the channel, watching the English countryside morph into the elegant French countryside - the joy it brings, you just can't replicate it!

I'm writing to you all from a charming, petite apartment on the Rue de Rivoli. Just steps from the Louvre Museum, the Seine and the most delicious patisserie I've ever set eyes on - literally!

A Day of Parisian Delights:

My first full day in Paris, what else could I possibly do? Of course, a ballet show was on the cards! It's something I absolutely must do in every city, it truly feeds the soul, you know?

The ballet was at the beautiful Opéra Garnier, a spectacular building dripping in opulence and grandeur. I felt like I was stepping onto a movie set. For this performance, I wore a simple, blush pink tutu, just to blend in with the surroundings. The Pink Tutu Code: if you want to blend in, be as bold as possible! It works every time. 😉

The show was The Nutcracker, which is, after all, the perfect Parisian treat for a balletic girl. It had everything - a snowstorm, mischievous mice, delicate flowers and of course, the sugarplum fairy.

But even better, I managed to grab an amazing outfit right before the show, just steps away from the theatre! Let's just say, a fabulous, red dress is now making its way to the top of my travel packing list, it's the perfect dress for exploring Parisian cafes and shopping at the most incredible vintage boutiques.

Speaking of which, I'm completely head-over-heels for all the incredible fashion in Paris. It’s like every Parisian woman has her own unique style and they wear it with such panache and confidence!

To be continued…:

Oh darling, I can’t wait to share more with you from Paris - the sights, the sounds, the food, and most importantly, the fashion! I'm off to enjoy the city and soak up the magical atmosphere - don’t forget to join me on Instagram (I'll be posting throughout the week!) to see my daily Parisian adventures! Until next time!

Lots of love and twirls,

Emma

*Pink Tutu Blog Update: (200 words) *

Well, darling, how I wish I could give you a full play by play of all my Parisian adventures, but there just isn’t enough time. Imagine my shock! This beautiful city is so full of possibilities that even a week isn't nearly enough!

Just before leaving, I caught a fabulous performance of La Vie en Rose on the Rue de Belleville - such talent, such beauty. They really make every performance so spectacular. In a perfect Parisian moment, I was completely mesmerised! It was a beautiful ballet - think Parisian glamour and passion set to music. The costumes, oh darling! Talk about Parisian fashion flair!

Of course, I’ve also indulged in copious amounts of the deliciousest Parisian pastries, visited a few hidden corners of the city that nobody else seems to know about (I won’t reveal my secrets! 😉 ), and, yes, I even bought myself a pair of brand new ballet shoes from a tiny little shop tucked away in a little alley - it had that old-world, magical Parisian charm about it!

Don’t forget, I'll be sharing photos and details of all my fabulous Paris finds on Instagram, my blog next week, and of course, my Instagram page! So, darling, stay tuned, stay pink, and keep twirling!

Until next time, Paris!
