Pink Tutu Travels: Bonjour from Paris! - Post #733

Saturday, 11th January, 2014

Oh, my darling tutu-lovers! I am SO excited to finally be writing to you from the most magical city in the world: Paris! The City of Lights, the City of Love, the City of... pink tutus? (Don't laugh, my lovelies, I'm working on it!)

As you know, I'm a true believer in living life in full-on, fabulous fashion. So what better way to celebrate the beginning of the new year than by hopping aboard the EuroStar (the pink tutu's best friend, by the way) and whisking myself away to the very heart of chic?

And let me tell you, this trip has already been an absolute dream! The second I stepped onto the platform at Gare du Nord, a sense of pure joy and adventure washed over me. The air itself feels infused with something special - maybe it's the croissants? (Because frankly, you could eat a croissant every day in Paris and still feel utterly fabulous!)

Now, for those of you who don't know me, allow me to introduce myself. I'm Emma, your resident pink tutu enthusiast. You can find me pirouetting through Derbyshire, England, teaching ballet, dazzling audiences with my performances, and sharing my love for all things pink and twirly. But this week, darling readers, my world has expanded, and so has my wardrobe.

My journey to Paris has been a whirlwind of sensory delights. I just know that you are dying to hear all about it, so grab a cuppa (or a glass of champagne if you're feeling fancy), put on your fanciest frock, and settle in.

From the EuroStar to the Seine

Let me paint you a picture: Imagine me, sporting my trusty pink tutu, gazing out of the window of the EuroStar, a million thoughts dancing in my head, as the English countryside whizzes by. We crossed the Channel like a graceful swan, gliding into a different world with every passing mile. And just like that, we were in France, and the moment I saw the twinkling lights of Paris emerge from the distance, I knew it would be an unforgettable adventure.

The train journey was pure bliss. Not only was the view mesmerizing, but I spent the entire trip brainstorming all the amazing pink tutu-inspired photo ops I was going to find in Paris. (And yes, I’ve already gotten some amazing shots in front of the Eiffel Tower! Be sure to keep an eye out on my Instagram, darling!). And while I was dreamily imagining Parisian life, I couldn't resist treating myself to some yummy croissants and the most delicious hot chocolate. Let's just say, the EuroStar knows how to treat its fashionable travellers.

Ballet in the City of Lights

What better way to begin my Parisian adventure than with a night at the ballet? Paris is the home of some of the most talented dancers in the world, and seeing a show here feels like stepping into a fairytale. Tonight, I'm seeing "Swan Lake," and I am practically vibrating with excitement! I’ve even bought a special pink tutu-themed outfit for the occasion - imagine the sequins, darlings! It’s the perfect blend of elegance and playful charm.

Paris is truly a ballet-lover's paradise. The cobblestone streets echo with the graceful movements of dancers practicing in charming little studios, and the elegant theaters have a history that is positively breathtaking. You can practically feel the rhythm of ballet beating in the air! And I just know that I’m going to be completely swept away by tonight's performance.

Shopping, Sightseeing and a Touch of Parisian Chic

No trip to Paris would be complete without some serious shopping! From the glamorous boutiques on the Champs-Élysées to the quirky vintage shops tucked away in charming side streets, this city is a fashionista's dream. Of course, I'm looking for a new tutu, maybe something with a Parisian flair (perhaps some lace, a bit of embroidery?). The possibilities are endless, and I’m determined to discover a treasure I’ve never seen before!

Tomorrow I'm planning to take a romantic stroll along the Seine. Imagine walking hand-in-hand (with a handsome stranger, of course!), admiring the iconic Parisian landmarks while a dreamy accordion melody wafts through the air... it’s like stepping into a black-and-white film, except in glorious Technicolor (because, darling, we always add a splash of colour)!

I’m going to wander through the enchanting Latin Quarter, discovering charming cafes and bookstalls hidden away in alleyways, all the while looking for inspiration for my own ballet performances back in Derbyshire.

And let's not forget about the exquisite pastries! I am on a mission to discover the best boulangerie in Paris and will report back with all my findings next week, so you can get a taste (literally!) of the sweetness of this city. I’ve heard tales of the most divine pain au chocolat and a croissant so flaky, it will make you swoon!

The Power of Pink and Tutu Dreams

You know me, darlings, my mission in life is to bring the magic of tutus to everyone! This trip to Paris is about more than just enjoying delicious pastries and discovering the best boutiques. It’s about seeing the world through the prism of pink and tutu-dreams. It's about sharing this vibrant passion for dance and fashion with anyone who will listen! And maybe, just maybe, while I’m exploring Paris, I'll even manage to inspire a few Parisian ladies to ditch their stilettos for a pink tutu or two!

Oh, the possibilities! This week’s blog has only scratched the surface of my Parisian adventures. I’ll be filling you in on all the juicy details – my discoveries, my encounters, and, of course, my best Parisian outfits – in my next post, coming next Saturday!

Until then, stay fabulous and keep twirling!

Yours in Pink and Tutu-filled Love,

Emma
