Pink Tutu Paris: Blog Post #734 - Bonjour from the City of Lights!
Saturday 18th January 2014
Oh la la! I'm finally here in Paris! The City of Lights, the fashion capital of the world, and the place of dreams for a little pink tutu-wearing ballerina like me. My heart is doing pirouettes just thinking about all the wonderful experiences I'm going to have!
I know, I know, some might think Paris is a bit clichéd. "Another Paris blog? How original," they might say. But for me, it's a total dream come true. There's just something about the atmosphere here, the way the city whispers stories of elegance, romance, and art that just calls to my tutu-loving soul.
And you can't beat the Eurostar. The train journey itself was like stepping into a Parisian movie. It's all sleek, modern, and luxurious, with complimentary wifi, perfect for catching up on my Insta feed and, of course, uploading a few fabulous "pink tutu selfie" snaps.
I travelled in my signature pink tutu, a gorgeous tulle masterpiece I recently designed myself. I must confess, the tutu felt rather flamboyant amidst the polished Parisians but you know me, I wouldn't have it any other way! I just want to share my love of pink tutus with the world. A touch of pink tutu fun adds a sprinkle of magic to any journey. It's like telling the world, "Hey! Look at me! I'm embracing my inner ballerina, and I'm feeling pretty fantastic about it!"
Now, let me tell you a bit about my whirlwind Saturday so far...
A Parisian Breakfast of Dreams:
After settling into my delightful, Parisian-chic hotel, I popped into a quaint café just a few blocks away. They had the most incredible croissant I've ever tasted, flaky and buttery with a hint of cinnamon. It was the perfect way to start the day, washed down with a café au lait and, of course, a glass of fresh orange juice for that extra dose of Vitamin C to fuel my Parisian adventures!
Taking to the Streets (and the Metro!)
I love how easy it is to get around Paris! I braved the Métro this morning, navigating through the labyrinth of tunnels and emerging onto bustling boulevards. The Metro was buzzing, filled with chic Parisians on their way to work. I even spotted a few tutus (though not pink, alas!) but that didn't stop me from striking a graceful pose in the mirror at my nearest Métro stop. A girl's gotta show off her inner ballerina, even on public transport!
Bonjour, Boutique!
Next stop, shopping! It's simply impossible to resist the lure of the countless boutiques lining the Parisian streets. Oh, the designer clothes, the shoes, the jewellery! I had to pull myself away before my bank account took a massive leap off a balcony (but let's face it, the temptation was oh-so-real!).
I made sure to stock up on some chic, Parisian-inspired accessories – a cute little beret with a playful pink feather (gotta incorporate my signature colour, right?) and a scarf with delicate florals that felt utterly elegant and effortlessly French.
An Afternoon at the Opera:
This afternoon was dedicated to an absolute delight - the ballet! It was "Le Lac des Cygnes" at the Palais Garnier - pure ballet bliss! The dancers were incredible, their movements so graceful, so mesmerizing. I sat in the grand old theatre, mesmerised by the sheer skill and beauty of the dancers, dreaming of twirling in a beautiful, sweeping, pink tutu onstage myself! The orchestra's music swelled and swirled like a tutu, lifting my heart and filling me with sheer delight.
A Night of Stars at the Théâtre du Châtelet:
No trip to Paris would be complete without catching a fantastic theatrical performance. So tonight I’m off to “La Traviata” at the Theatre du Chatelet. Opera is an essential ingredient in Parisian magic, the blend of voice and movement just captivating me and putting me right in the heart of Parisian culture. And you just never know who you might bump into at one of these shows – an iconic French fashion designer, maybe a Hollywood star… I've heard tales of amazing, chance encounters in the world of Parisian theater.
Of Pink Tutús and Parisian Dreams:
Paris has been overflowing with magic for me. Every step I take feels like I’m starring in my own ballet! It’s like the city itself was designed to celebrate the beauty of the human form, inspiring you to embrace your inner ballerina! And the most important thing of all is that it inspires everyone, from little girls in princess tutus to grand dames in elaborate ball gowns, to unleash their inner sparkle. So here’s to embracing the spirit of Parisian magic and letting your inner pink tutu shine!
That’s all for now my lovelies! See you next Saturday for another pink tutu-tastic post from Paris!
Au revoir, Emma
