Pink Tutu in Paris: A Ballet-Filled Bonjour! (Post #774)

Bonjour, darlings!

It's Emma, your favourite pink-tutu-wearing ballerina, and I'm so excited to be back in Paris, the city of love, lights, and, of course, fashion! This is post number 774, a milestone moment for my Pink Tutu blog. You might remember that Paris was the backdrop of my first post, Pink Tutu and the Eiffel Tower, all those years ago. Since then, I've taken you on adventures to Covent Garden, explored the best vintage stores in Brighton, and even danced a little flamenco in Seville.

But there's something special about Paris, isn't there? Maybe it's the romance of the cobbled streets, the air filled with the scent of freshly baked bread, or perhaps the captivating blend of classical architecture and chic boutiques. Whatever it is, Paris always calls to me, beckoning me to embrace its vibrant energy and captivating beauty.

And what better way to start a Paris adventure than a Eurostar journey, I ask you? With a good book and a comfy pair of slippers (pink, naturally), it’s the most luxurious way to travel. It felt like I'd stepped into a whimsical world where I could let my imagination run wild and dream up all the delightful ballet shows and shopping expeditions that awaited me.

Speaking of dreams, I can't tell you how delighted I am to be sharing this Paris trip with you. It's all thanks to my amazing performances back in Derbyshire. The funding I raised through the ballet allows me to chase my passion for travel and introduce the Pink Tutu to a wider world. As you all know, the more pink tutus out there, the better!

This time in Paris is all about indulging my inner ballerina, whether it's taking in the grand performance of Swan Lake at the Palais Garnier or finding the perfect pink tutu at a little vintage boutique hidden down a narrow Parisian lane. Yes, I said hidden! It's those secret finds that make a Paris trip truly magical, and you know I'll be sharing every single detail with you, my lovely Pink Tutu followers.

A Day in Parisian Paradise

So, here I am, in Paris, and what a day it’s been! Saturday, the 25th of October, and I feel like I'm in a movie – all swirling Parisian cafes, golden leaves tumbling from trees, and a charming French waiter who even complimented me on my Pink Tutu. (Naturally, it’s my signature Parisian ensemble – a delicate tulle tutu in the softest shade of rose paired with a tailored black blazer and knee-high boots. I find that touch of edge and refinement gives a pink tutu a more sophisticated edge, don’t you?)

Morning: A Taste of Parisian Luxury

First stop: Le Café de la Paix, one of those legendary Parisian cafes I'd dreamt of visiting for years. Imagine: plush velvet seating, marble floors, gilded ceilings, and the most delectable breakfast I've had in ages. I felt like a character straight out of a novel, enjoying croissants and a steaming cup of café au lait while watching Parisian life go by.

Afternoon: Ballet Dreams at the Palais Garnier

Then, the highlight of my day: the Palais Garnier. As you know, the home of the Paris Opera is iconic. It’s a breathtaking mix of opulence and history, with its opulent staircases and dazzling chandeliers. My favourite bit has to be the Grand Staircase. Its intricate marble carvings are stunning, and you can practically hear the ghosts of grand operas and ballet performances whispering in the shadows.

Of course, I had to watch the ballet. Swan Lake. You guys! I was mesmerised. I always get caught up in the graceful movements of the dancers, their leaps, turns, and extensions – and seeing the Paris Opera Ballet in their iconic home brought tears to my eyes. I could barely control myself, and had to resist the urge to run onto the stage and dance myself.

Evening: Fashion & Friends in the Marais

And to end the day on a perfect note, I spent the evening exploring the Marais – one of Paris’ most vibrant and creative districts. It's home to beautiful Parisian houses with their grand stone doorways and window boxes brimming with colourful flowers. Plus, of course, it has shops! It was a ballet of colour and style, filled with vintage shops bursting with treasures, independent designers showcasing unique collections, and the most divine little cafes. And there’s not a Pink Tutu I didn’t adore in the window of every shop – from the ones with delicate, ethereal lace to the bolder styles featuring playful patterns. I confess to snapping a few up (at ridiculously good prices, of course!).

The Pink Tutu Parisian Shopping Spree!

This trip, I've been on the hunt for something truly special to add to my pink tutu collection, a piece that speaks to the Parisian spirit – romantic, elegant, yet slightly rebellious. And I finally found it!

tucked away on a side street in the Marais, is a little vintage shop with the most eclectic selection of tutus – you wouldn’t believe it. But there, amidst layers of tulle and sequins, I found it. My Parisian treasure. A tutu of pure silk chiffon in a vintage rose shade, with delicate lace accents that shimmered like moonlight. The skirt flows effortlessly, creating an ethereal cloud of pink – a real Parisian dream. I have a feeling it's going to make many an appearance in the streets of Paris and on the stages of England. I’m hoping to wear it at the next performance – if you want to see, keep an eye on the website for details!

Paris – My Home Away from Home

So there you have it, my first day in Paris! It's been magical, and I know this adventure is just beginning. You know me: I'll be exploring, shopping, dancing, and, of course, living in Pink Tutu splendour. And don’t worry, my dear Pink Tutu followers, I'll be sharing every delightful moment with you – every romantic café latte, every ballet performance, and every chic pink tutu discovery – in the days to come.

Au revoir for now! Emma
