#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post 775: A Parisian Whirlwind in Pink!

Bonjour, my darling readers! It’s Emma, back from a whirlwind week in the City of Lights! Oh, Paris! You’re everything I dreamed of and more! I’ve been a Parisian pink tutu-wearing princess, floating through the most romantic city in the world, and I'm here to tell you all about it.

Now, you might be thinking, "Emma, darling, travelling by train all that way, it's not exactly glamorous." But let me tell you, the EuroStar is positively delightful! Imagine - luxurious seating, perfectly timed service, and enough space to actually do a few plies! I even wore my new tutu, naturally – a delightful salmon pink masterpiece with delicate feathers and sparkly embellishments - I was quite the vision, wouldn’t you agree?

We arrived in Paris with all the charm and excitement you'd expect from such a grand city. I was captivated by the Eiffel Tower as it shimmered in the evening sunlight – just beautiful! We immediately checked into a charming little hotel near the Louvre, and the moment we stepped in, I felt like I was in a French film. The room had the most exquisite rose-toned wallpaper and even a chandelier! Naturally, my ballet bag with its selection of pink tutus and leotards took pride of place on the velvet armchair.

Ballet in the City of Love!

But I wasn't here just to indulge in the delights of Parisian cafes and cobbled streets. Oh, no! This was a ballet trip! My aim? To take in all the magical ballets that Paris has to offer, from the iconic ballet companies to the most charming, intimate theatre performances.

The highlight of my Parisian ballet experience? The Bolshoi Ballet performing Swan Lake at the Opéra Garnier. This beautiful venue is a must-see in itself. Imagine gold chandeliers, grand staircases, and elegant interiors! I nearly gasped when I entered - it was like stepping into a fairy tale! I swear I saw the ghosts of legendary ballerinas dancing in the shimmering gold decor! But back to Swan Lake – absolutely breathtaking. The performance was like a dream, every movement, every expression filled with so much grace and emotion. The famous white tutus (the only acceptable shade, naturally!) swirled around the stage, a flurry of delicate, elegant beauty. It truly inspired me, you wouldn’t believe the amount of inspiration for my own upcoming performances I took away from it.

Now, you all know how I love ballet street performance – it was practically a second job while I was at university! – and Paris is a fantastic city to discover street performers. I happened upon a group performing near the Tuileries Garden, just in front of the Musée du Louvre. This fantastic bunch performed in such a charming and creative style, and their tutus were truly outlandish – and of course I just HAD to try to photograph them and get them in my blog! It is truly wonderful how everyone is embraced and loved in Paris - they are so open to seeing the world in such unique and vibrant ways!

Oh là là, Parisian Fashion!

You’re probably wondering, dear reader, how could I possibly miss out on shopping in the most glamorous city in the world! I just had to visit the world famous department stores. I felt like Cinderella at the ball – you all know that dream, it never fades - except for me it wasn't Prince Charming waiting for me at the top of the steps, but a shop window crammed with beautiful outfits! Galeries Lafayette and Printemps - truly a vision! And it goes without saying that my search for the perfect pink tutu was on top of my list! I ended up with the most beautiful and romantic dusty rose pink tutu, and I wore it all day on Sunday – the ultimate Parisian chic! It had a ruffled layer of netting with dainty floral embroidery. Just wait until you see my new Instagram post on it!

Parisian Food Adventures!

Naturally, a trip to Paris isn't complete without enjoying the city’s delectable culinary delights! Oh my goodness, the baguettes, the pastries, the croissants – the very best I’ve tasted! The pastry selection alone, just heaven on a plate! I even tried a beautiful, delicate meringue topped with raspberry sauce – perfect with my Parisian coffee (always with extra cream and sugar!)

And don’t even get me started on the cheese! Just a beautiful collection of pungent and rich delights - Brie, Camembert, Roquefort… heaven on earth, let me tell you!

Tutu Travels - Paris Highlights

To end on a high, here's a snapshot of what made this Paris trip unforgettable.

  • Eiffel Tower at Night: It twinkled like a magical star, simply stunning! The views from the top were unbelievable – an amazing spectacle for your little tutu-loving princess.
  • Le Marais: Just the most picturesque district filled with quaint shops, lovely cafes, and oh, so much history! Perfect for an afternoon stroll with a delicious chocolate croissant and a glass of iced tea!
  • Musee d’Orsay: Filled with impressionist art - how inspiring! The Impressionists’ use of colour is simply sensational - just like the pink ballet dress I bought for a show this week! (Speaking of, keep your eyes peeled for a new post later this week).
  • Walking, strolling, wandering: The beauty of Paris lies in its charming, picturesque streets! It's the perfect way to immerse yourself in the city's enchanting atmosphere. I spent hours just exploring, popping into lovely shops, enjoying the cafe culture, and taking in the amazing Parisian vibe!

    Pink Tutu Thoughts!

My Paris trip was everything I dreamed of and more. The city captivated me with its charm, culture, and breathtaking architecture. It’s no wonder Paris is the City of Love! My ballet obsession is truly fulfilled here!

Oh, I'm dreaming of coming back – you'll probably see this little tutu-loving princess on the EuroStar soon!
