Pink Tutu Blog Paris - #799: Bonjour from the City of Lights!

Oh la la! It’s Emma, your favourite pink tutu-wearing, ballet-loving, travel-obsessed blogger, here from the City of Lights! This Saturday marks my arrival in Paris, and I can already feel the magic. It's been ages since my last trip to Paris, and I just knew I had to come back. It was just about time to bring out my Paris collection of tutus - pink of course, they're my favourite!

As you all know, I am absolutely bonkers for trains. That’s why I decided to come by Eurostar, with all my pink luggage in tow, of course! It’s just so romantic. Sitting on that comfy, plush train watching the countryside whizz past – absolute bliss! This journey is even better knowing I'm on my way to Paris. There’s just something about this city, a touch of magic in the air that pulls you in. It's a city of dreams, of beauty, of fashion, and, yes, of pink tutus! I know I keep going on about it, but, really, there's no other color quite like it!

Today’s Paris adventures were focused on a lovely combination of culture and shopping, as is my favourite kind of day!

The Palais Garnier: A Ballerina's Dream Come True!

First up, I just had to visit the iconic Palais Garnier – the epitome of grandeur and opulence. As you can probably guess, this beautiful, sprawling Opera House just had to be on my list! To top it all off, I was lucky enough to snag tickets for a matinée performance. The story? Oh, pure fairytale – beautiful music, dazzling dancers, and an ending that left me swooning!

And oh my goodness, the Palais Garnier itself. Every detail was crafted with the utmost care and finesse. You just know it's steeped in history and legend! For me, as a dancer, stepping into this place was like entering a dream – just think of all the incredible dancers that graced that stage over the years! And, wouldn’t you know it, I found the perfect photo opportunity! I can’t tell you how amazing I felt as I posed for pictures outside with the magnificent Opera House as my backdrop.

After the show, I treated myself to a well-deserved spot of afternoon tea at one of the cutest little tearooms I found near the Opera House. It was just what I needed to re-energize and soak up all the excitement of the morning. And of course, pink champagne - to toast the Parisian dream!

Le Marais: Fashion Heaven!

Later in the afternoon, it was off to Le Marais – a veritable playground for vintage lovers like me! This part of Paris is simply divine. It’s a kaleidoscope of chic boutiques, charming cafes, and buzzing little markets, just the kind of vibe I thrive on.

Walking the streets was like being in a French fairytale – beautiful cobblestones, adorable old buildings draped in ivy, and an air of artistry that truly felt magical. I found myself completely immersed in the local vibe and simply soaking up all the inspiration!

Then, I found myself walking down the famous Rue des Francs-Bourgeois, and wow, what a journey that was! I went shop crazy, exploring all those vintage treasure troves, dreaming of every piece I could find, all the beautiful prints and designs! The sheer number of fashion finds – an absolute treat for this Parisian shopping queen! And you bet, there were some pretty awesome pink finds – I might have accidentally overpacked!

After a whirlwind afternoon of shopping, I enjoyed a delectable dinner of escargots, duck confit, and all the decadent cheeses a girl could ask for – because it’s France and we’re indulging! Then I capped off the night with a stroll by the Seine and the Eiffel Tower, my pink tutu reflecting the sparkling lights. What a picture perfect end to an enchanting Parisian day.

This weekend’s been an absolute dream, I can’t wait to share more with you about my week in Paris. Stay tuned for next week’s blog, where I’ll be exploring Montmartre, having more decadent Parisian food and indulging in even more shopping - after all, a trip to Paris just isn't complete without shopping til you drop!

So, until then, remember to keep your tutus pink, your hearts open, and your dreams big, darling!

À bientôt, Emma
