#PinkTutuBlogParis: Post 804 - Ooh la la, Paris! (Part One)

Bonjour, mes amis!

This is Emma from the pink tutu blog. It’s Saturday the 23rd of May 2015, and I'm in Paris, France! It feels absolutely amazing to be here, even if my journey from Derbyshire was a tad longer than usual, thanks to a little incident on the Eurostar. I mean, come on, a four-hour train ride from London to Paris isn't exactly what you'd call a "joyride" at the best of times! I'll share that little anecdote in a later post (it was quite the comedic adventure, trust me!), but for now, let's focus on the magical city of lights!

I've got my fluffy pink tutu packed in my suitcase (of course!), a whole heap of pretty dresses to add a touch of girly magic to the Parisian streets, and a huge pink floral handbag to carry all my treasures. What can I say, pink is just so chic and goes with absolutely everything! I always aim to dress my best when I travel, especially to such a stylish place like Paris. It's like a beautiful painting that I get to step right into, and I want to be a delightful part of that picture!

Speaking of pictures, let me tell you, it's raining pink tutus here! Okay, not literally (although I'd love to see a shower of pink tutus falling from the sky - how magical would that be?), but it's just been bursting with inspiration everywhere I go! From the incredible architecture to the bustling markets, the streets of Paris are like one giant, dazzling ballet performance.

Yesterday, after arriving in Paris in style (you know me, gotta keep up the tutus!) and settling into my gorgeous little apartment just around the corner from the Eiffel Tower (OMG, I can practically touch the Eiffel Tower from my balcony!), I headed out to soak in all the beauty that Paris has to offer.

A Stroll Around The Eiffel Tower

My very first Parisian escapade was a lovely stroll around the Eiffel Tower, naturally! It's the iconic Parisian landmark, a breathtaking beauty that looks as magnificent from up close as it does in all the photos. There I was, walking amongst a swarm of people from every corner of the globe, feeling a wave of absolute awe as I admired the intricately crafted metal framework of this architectural marvel.

Let me tell you, seeing it in person is truly a magical experience, something you have to feel to understand! Standing there with the sun shining and the gentle Parisian breeze whispering around me, I just couldn't resist letting my inner ballerina take centre stage. With the Eiffel Tower as my backdrop, I twirled in my bright pink tutu and felt like the only person on Earth! It's those little moments, those flashes of simple joy, that make travel so special.

My top tips for visiting the Eiffel Tower:

  • Go in the early evening for a beautiful sunset view!
  • Make sure you pack a comfy pair of shoes, you'll be doing a lot of walking!
  • Be sure to have your camera ready! The view is truly something to be captured.
  • If you’re feeling adventurous, try walking up the stairs! It’s a little workout, but definitely worth it.

After a delightful stroll and a photo shoot or two, I couldn't resist stopping at a lovely cafe with a spectacular view. Sipping my tea with a delicious croissant while watching the city come alive at sunset was the perfect way to end a perfect Parisian afternoon!

Ballet Bliss: Onward to the Opera Garnier!

Today, I have another wonderful ballet adventure planned: a visit to the beautiful Palais Garnier! If you’re a ballet lover like me, then you’ve just gotta see this amazing theatre, home to the Paris Opera Ballet, the oldest and most prestigious ballet company in the world.

I'm so excited to experience the artistry and grace of this incredible institution! Imagine all those stunning costumes and dramatic lighting! My tutus are getting a little nervous in anticipation - just imagine all the inspiration I'm going to gather for my next design! I’ve heard rumours about the incredible chandeliers and breathtaking decorations! Maybe even some inspiring, glitzy new pink tutu designs might be born in the belly of this majestic building? Time will tell!

I'm still exploring the city's charm and secrets, and I'll be back on the blog next Saturday with more Paris-tastic adventures. Stay tuned for exciting tales of French pastries, stylish shopping sprees, and perhaps a spontaneous street performance or two (tutud! - yes, that's a thing!). Don't forget to visit www.pink-tutu.com every Saturday for my Parisian ramblings!

Bisous, Emma
