Pink Tutu Blog Paris #803: Parisian Perfection!

Bonjour mes amies! It's Emma here, ready to transport you to the City of Lights – Paris! I just had to come and see all the iconic sights, the world-class fashion, and the charming Parisian cafes! This time around, I thought I'd ditch the usual travelling routine and go by EuroStar! It felt absolutely divine - all the plush seating and champagne – très chic, oui!

So let’s just dive straight into the pink tutu-tastic goodness that is Paris! This trip has already been an absolute whirlwind of glitter, tulle, and, of course, Parisian charm. It wouldn't be a Pink Tutu Blog trip without a visit to the most enchanting shop, Pink Feathers. Hidden away on a little cobbled street, it's full of exquisite tulle skirts and fluffy pink tutus, all begging to be twirled in the most delightful fashion! I've just added another dreamy number to my collection, a bubblegum pink tulle delight, oh my!

On the topic of twirling, darling, how could I go to Paris without experiencing the iconic ballet at the Palais Garnier! Le Grand Ballet de Paris was magnificent, I'm still buzzing! The dancers were incredible – they floated, swirled, and leapt across the stage with effortless grace, leaving me absolutely mesmerised! The setting was utterly breathtaking. Even the ceiling! Did you know it's gold leaf and intricately painted? A sight to behold!

After my ballet extravaganza, I popped into a quaint little tea room called Le Bonbon - a literal explosion of sweetness. Everything in this dainty cafe was pink and oh-so-pretty, from the rose-scented pastries to the walls. Even their pink velvet chairs added to the fabulous ambience! The afternoon tea was divine - delicate finger sandwiches, warm scones with clotted cream, and oh-my-goodness, a plate of petits fours fit for a queen! I’m already making plans to return for more, perhaps in a brand new pink tutu!

And because shopping is part of my very being, I absolutely had to hit up The Galeries Lafayette. The place is a fashion dreamland! Every designer, every boutique, every piece of couture was enough to set any fashionista's heart aflutter! My pink tutu spun around so fast I practically became a blur! My current crush: a hot pink dress with shimmering sequins – magnifique!

Fun Fact: *Did you know the original Galeries Lafayette was founded by a family named Bader who loved the city of Paris so much they wanted to show off their appreciation through retail! This makes me think - perhaps I should consider starting a boutique... A boutique called *Emma’s Pink Tutu Emporium! Who wouldn’t want to shop for pink tutus, fluffy skirts, and a few glittery extras?

But there’s more to Paris than shopping and pastries, darlings. The Louvre! Well, just imagine this... I step out of the metro station in my bright pink tutu (it attracts a lot of stares!) and arrive in front of La Joconde or, to the non-French speakers among you, the Mona Lisa! Just breathtaking! She's even more captivating than all the whispers surrounding her! Honestly, who wouldn’t feel a sense of inspiration standing there amongst so much artistic beauty! It's so exciting to think about all the history these walls have witnessed and the untold stories held in each brushstroke!

And no trip to Paris would be complete without a stroll down the beautiful Champs-Élysées, a shimmering parade of fashion and fabulousness. It’s so picturesque, filled with charming cafes, luxury shops, and people of all nationalities strolling beneath the Eiffel Tower. Even with a steady stream of tourists, this place still retains its Parisian magic. It's simply breathtaking! And of course, it’s impossible to ignore the spectacular Eiffel Tower reaching up to the sky, a testament to human ingenuity and the grandeur of Paris!

One evening, I felt so inspired, so utterly overwhelmed by the romantic charm of Paris, that I joined in a performance with the Ballet Parisienne Street Company in the shadow of the iconic Arc de Triomphe. Imagine my delightful surprise as we all performed an impromptu tutu waltz with a few Parisian onlookers, under the twinkle of city lights! You should have seen the smiles, the twinkle in people's eyes – we created magic right there in the middle of Paris.

But, here's a bit of insider knowledge: The best Parisian experience is when you explore off the beaten path! A secret tip from Emma - head to the Saint Germain-des-Prés district - home to artists and poets. Its quirky and cool vibes remind me a bit of Derbyshire, just on a bigger scale. It’s also a great place for vintage clothes shops, perfect for pink tutu inspiration. There are also fantastic restaurants hidden down cobbled lanes where you can savor the finest French cuisine. Just be careful not to get caught up in the romantic cobbled charm or you'll easily lose an hour in these wonderful alleyways!

Before you say au revoir to Paris, you have to see The Palace of Versailles - it’s pure history and royal charm! With its manicured gardens and breathtaking interiors, Versailles makes me dream of princesses in fluffy tutus and the perfect pink-themed ballroom party! The grandeur of this palace truly transports you back to the days of French aristocracy, it’s a storybook waiting to come to life!

Evenings in Paris are best spent on a Parisian picnic near the Eiffel Tower. I suggest purchasing freshly baked bread and pastries from the local patisseries, finding a peaceful corner on the banks of the Seine and savoring the romantic Parisian air! And just before the last rays of the setting sun turn the city to gold, be sure to take a perfect Parisian photo in front of the Eiffel Tower in your fabulous pink tutu! Because in Paris, life really is about savouring every magical moment.

So there you have it, my Parisian adventures! Full of twirling, sparkles, shopping and fabulous pink tutus! Paris has been everything I dreamed of and more! But I’ll be honest, Paris makes me miss my Derbyshire roots too! Maybe, it’s time to inspire some more pink tutu twirling in the UK.

See you next week for a brand-new blog post on www.pink-tutu.com - Don’t forget to subscribe and follow my journey on social media! And, always remember, life is meant to be lived in a pink tutu, my darlings!

With lots of love and twirls, Emma x
