#PinkTutuBlogParis - Saturday 2015-05-09 Exploring Paris!

Bonjour from Paris, darlings!

It's your favourite tutu-wearing ballerina, Emma, back with you from the City of Lights. This is blog post number 802 - a monumental milestone for #PinkTutuBlogParis - and this week, it's all about exploring the incredible Parisian magic that only this beautiful city can offer.

Travel by Train - A Ballet in Motion!

As you know, I'm a huge fan of travelling by train. It's so much more civilised than flying. So I hopped on the Eurostar for a whistle-stop journey straight to Gare du Nord. It’s a journey that makes you feel like a character in a glamorous French film! And if you're looking for a tip, bring your ballet shoes - you can easily fit in a quick warm-up in the carriage! The Eurostar is like a moving ballet studio - a perfect space for feeling free, twirling and letting your imagination run wild.

Landing in Paris - A Ballerina's Dream Come True!

Walking out of Gare du Nord, I felt the familiar rush of excitement and adventure that only Paris can bring. And I must confess, darlings, the Parisian sky was a beautiful shade of blush pink! Perfect for a Pink Tutu ballerina! The scent of freshly baked croissants filled the air and there was a certain chicness in the air that sent shivers of anticipation down my spine.

Day 1 - Discovering the Parisian Elegance

My first full day in Paris was all about embracing the city’s timeless elegance. Starting with a perfectly prepared Parisian breakfast (a delicious, pain au chocolat paired with a fresh fruit smoothie, naturally), I embarked on a charming walk along the Seine. Imagine, darlings, the romantic scenes of bridges, twinkling lights, and picturesque streets, with the Eiffel Tower looming gracefully in the distance! It truly felt like I’d stepped into a ballet performance, the Parisian architecture a breathtaking backdrop.

And the day wasn’t over. I’ve been dying to visit the incredible MusĂ©e Rodin for years, and today I finally got to see those incredible sculptures! From "The Thinker" to "The Kiss" they’re each a masterpiece of grace and expression, and each evokes the beauty of ballet, sculpted in stone. A real ballet fan has to experience the art of Auguste Rodin - his life, work and incredible sculptures!

Day 2 - Stepping into Parisian Fashion!

Okay, you know I had to get my shopping fix in Paris! And my day was devoted to exploring the heart of Parisian fashion - the incredible department stores! It felt like being backstage at a big fashion show, with elegant displays of stunning garments and an atmosphere buzzing with creativity. The clothes were practically begging to be twirled in, each a unique performance piece in its own right.

And, oh darling, did you know, the Parisian stores even carry some absolutely stunning ballet wear! And did you know that a tutu shop called "La Ballerina" sells fabulous tutus - a must see, and the tutus look fantastic on everyone, even me - just kidding darling, but they do make beautiful pink tutus!

I think I might have picked up a few items myself - who can resist? I mean, even ballerinas need a little wardrobe update every now and then. (wink, wink).

Day 3 - Parisian Theatre! A Performance Fit For a Queen

Of course, my trip to Paris wasn’t complete without attending a fabulous theatrical performance. Imagine this, darlings: sitting in a plush red velvet seat, with the aroma of freshly-made popcorn in the air. The excitement of the play building like a crescendo - and then, the curtain rises!

Last night I was lucky enough to see “The Three Musketeers” at the beautiful ThĂ©Ăątre du ChĂątelet. What a breathtaking production! I found myself absolutely swept away in a swirl of romance, sword fights and intrigue - it was just as captivating as a ballet performance. The energy of the theatre was absolutely electric!

And speaking of ballets, I found the best place for buying ballet tickets! My new favourite, “The Opera de Paris” has everything you could ever want in a ballet theatre. Plus the dancers were sensational!

Day 4 - Bonjour, Ballet! Paris is the Ultimate Ballet Destination

One of the highlights of my Parisian adventure was discovering the legendary OpĂ©ra Garnier - a ballet-lover’s dream! You could practically feel the history swirling through those magnificent corridors and I spent hours marveling at the magnificent chandeliers and stunning staircases.

Oh, I know this sounds cliche but it’s completely true; Paris is practically built for ballet! From its graceful architecture to its grand boulevards, it seems to encourage graceful movements and beautiful ballets. You just have to stand and be ready for your own private show - there are literally ballets everywhere you look!

Even more special, I attended a special "French Ballet Classes" which was just incredible! There were so many fantastic dancers and the French technique is so beautiful and refined - definitely the highlight of my week. Oh, if only you were all here!

Back to Derbyshire - Sharing Parisian Sparkle!

The train back to Derbyshire was filled with the sweet memories of my time in Paris. It's amazing how a city can inspire and captivate you so completely!

A Special Message for YOU!

Darlings, you know how much I love promoting pink tutus as a symbol of freedom, creativity, and joy. And Paris has really strengthened my belief! Everywhere I went, I saw Parisians expressing themselves through their style, their architecture, their art, and their love of dance. It is an inspiration, and a message to everyone who sees this post, just be yourself, wear a pink tutu, embrace the art and joy of life, and you can absolutely be a star in your own ballet of life.
