Bonjour mes amis! Welcome to Pink Tutu Paris, post number 819, coming to you live from the City of Lights! It’s Saturday 5th September, 2015, and I'm absolutely buzzing. I'm officially in Paris, you guys! I made it, and guess what? My new pink tutu arrived just in time. It's going to be absolutely magnifique for exploring the sights and sounds of Paris, don't you think?
The Eurostar journey was a dream, by the way. You wouldn’t believe how many people looked at my tutu! I swear, they were all staring, but not in a mean way. They looked intrigued and happy for me, I think. The train was super fast and comfy too - just what you need after a long performance night. You know how it is, I bet - back on that train at 1 am, trying to get some sleep between performances to earn enough for this trip. It was worth every penny.
The very first thing I did when I arrived was, of course, find a bakery. I mean, it’s the law, right? You simply cannot visit Paris without a proper croissant! It was delicious - buttery and flaky with just the right amount of sweetness. I almost fainted with delight! And don’t even get me started on the hot chocolate - rich, creamy, and chocolatey with that delightful hint of burnt sugar. I’m a Parisian gourmand already, I tell you!
Today, the sunshine is practically shimmering off the beautiful old buildings. Everything just feels a little bit more chic here. I’ve been exploring the Latin Quarter, surrounded by students and buzzing cafes. It's a dream! And the little shops are bursting with such beautiful clothes! Oh, I've already spotted some fabulous additions to my wardrobe – it’s just impossible to resist with these incredible shops all around me.
Of course, I've been adding a little pink sparkle to the Parisian streets! I was prancing down the Rue Mouffetard this morning in my new tutu. A sweet old lady selling flowers even offered me a little rose – she called me a "pretty princess"! You wouldn't believe how much joy this trip has given me so far. Paris just makes you want to smile.
This evening, I'm heading to a fantastic new ballet performance at the Opera Garnier! I hear it's absolutely incredible, and I’m excited to get inspired for my next piece. But before that, it's off to discover the gorgeous Galerie Lafayette – imagine all the vintage jewels, antique mirrors, and decadent Parisian perfumes. My wallet is in danger, you guys!
So, this week, I'm just going to indulge myself with the French way of life – coffee, croissants, shopping, ballet, and of course, a bit of dancing in my favourite pink tutu! Keep an eye on my blog because, next week, I'm planning on visiting the Louvre Museum, trying some incredible French cuisine, and maybe even venturing to Versailles!
