Pink Tutu Blog Paris - #818 - A Whirlwind of Parisian Delights!
Bonjour, my darling tutu-lovers! It's Saturday, which means it's time for another Parisian adventure! This week has been an absolute whirlwind of pink, sparkles, and cultural delights, all culminating in the glorious day that is today!
I've been yearning for Paris ever since my last trip a couple of years ago. You see, darling, I can't seem to get enough of the city of lights. It’s just bursting with life and romance - a beautiful marriage of history and contemporary fashion, a veritable fairytale!
But before we get to my Parisian discoveries, I must tell you about the journey. This week, my adventure began with a glorious EuroStar journey! I simply adore train travel; the soft whooshing of the carriage, the gentle sway, the opportunity to sink into a book while the world whizzes past. A little pink scarf draped over the back of the chair? That just adds an extra touch of magic.
Now, darling, to the heart of the matter - Paris! And oh my goodness, what a treat this week has been. It’s always such an adventure to revisit the same places again and again - noticing the subtle shifts, the tiny details that only someone truly in love with this city would recognise.
On Monday, I was in a right tizzy, getting ready to head straight to the heart of Paris, where I spent the entire afternoon at my favourite ballet shop! This darling boutique, with its delicate lace curtains and shimmering silk tutu displays, is a true wonderland of everything ballet. I had to try on at least ten different tutus! Finally, I couldn’t resist buying a new one - a luscious pink silk tutu with hand-sewn sparkles, just perfect for my Parisian twirls.
After a whirlwind afternoon, it was time for some dinner, so I grabbed a classic Parisian croque monsieur from a local cafe - oh, darling, let me tell you, it was divine! Crispy on the outside, oozing with gooey cheese on the inside, it was pure heaven. The perfect way to round off a glorious day of Parisian discoveries.
Tuesday was dedicated to culture and, naturally, a trip to the iconic Palais Garnier Opera House! Imagine a majestic building dripping with gilded décor, with its famous grand staircase and stunning chandeliers. It’s a beautiful palace for the performing arts, the ultimate testament to French heritage and its commitment to culture.
And oh, the ballet was superb! I can't describe the elegance and finesse of the dancers; they just flowed across the stage with effortless grace. It was such a joy to see, and afterwards, I took a spin in the lobby - you simply must know, it feels incredible to whirl under the glow of such iconic chandeliers!
Wednesday was for exploring the heart of the City of Lights! This day was for strolling through the streets, drinking in the sights, and simply savouring the atmosphere. This included a little Parisian shopping treat at my favourite little antique shop nestled away on a cobblestone side street.
I discovered the most amazing little collection of vintage ballerina shoes - a beautiful selection of antique leather and velvet with such intricate stitching. Of course, I had to add a pair to my collection – they are absolutely perfect, so elegant and feminine!
The Parisian streets just have this magic, darling! So romantic, with quaint shops nestled in between ancient buildings. It’s no wonder everyone falls in love with Paris - it’s like stepping into a fairytale!
Now, my dear readers, it wouldn’t be a proper trip to Paris without some culinary delights. Thursday evening was all about the delectable art of French gastronomy. A fabulous restaurant nestled amongst the Parisian rooftops, complete with breathtaking city views and exquisite cuisine – French onion soup, flaky puff pastry filled with decadent cream, and a melt-in-your-mouth dessert made with lavender and berries. It was truly a night for the senses.
Friday was a real treat! It was the day of the annual Parisian street performance festival! This celebration is full of life and colour! Hundreds of performers from around the world bring the streets alive with music, dance, theatre and street art.
It was such a delightful surprise! From fire eaters juggling blazing torches to street acrobats soaring through the air, there was something to catch everyone’s eye. And of course, darling, a couple of pink tutus couldn’t resist joining in the fun - dancing amongst the colourful crowds with a few spontaneous twirls.
As the day unfolded, I made a trip to the local Parisian market, filled with the smells and sounds of the freshest French produce imaginable. I sampled the freshest fruit and pastries, watching the local bakers in their charming white hats, crafting delicate croissants and delicious bread.
And now, my dears, here I am, at a little Parisian cafe, ready to start my day in Parisian style - with a latte, of course, and a beautifully designed croissant! Paris truly knows how to capture a woman's heart with its romantic cafes, quaint bookstores, and vibrant streets. And let’s be honest, who doesn't love a little bit of Parisian glamour?
You see, this city has the magical ability to make everyone feel like they’re the star of their own story - with all the enchantment, whimsy and possibility of the world open to you. And let’s be honest, a bit of pink never hurts in the City of Love!
Stay tuned, darlings, for next week's blog - I'll be revealing some Parisian secrets I found nestled amidst the shops, cafes and cobblestone streets of the most magical city in the world! Until then, stay fabulous and never stop believing in the power of pink and tutus!
Bisous, Emma
