Pink Tutu Blog: Paris - Post #838 - A Whirlwind Weekend in the City of Lights!
Bonjour, darlings! It's Emma, your favourite pink tutu-wearing ballerina, and I'm back with another post from the most magical city in the world - Paris! This weekend was just divine - so much so, I even packed my most flamboyant tutu, with all its pink frills and sequins. Honestly, it's practically begging to be twirled under the Eiffel Tower!
Speaking of travel, I made my way to Paris by EuroStar, my favourite way to get across the Channel. The ride is so smooth, the scenery is incredible, and I get to people watch from the comfort of a spacious, modern carriage. I always think the people on the Eurostar seem so sophisticated - like they’re off to exciting business meetings or fabulous cultural events. And let's be honest, there’s something utterly charming about a speedy train journey, wouldn't you agree?
Anyway, after my whirlwind trip, I'm back in Derbyshire, my beloved countryside home, feeling like a real princess who’s just landed from a fairy tale. The whole weekend was filled with those "Parisian" moments: a magical trip up the Eiffel Tower at sunset, a dreamy stroll through the Jardin des Tuileries, and, of course, a whole heap of shopping! I must confess, I can't resist a good vintage boutique, especially in Paris, where they've got this wonderful old-school Parisian style that is simply irresistible. And of course, it's no secret that I adore pink - I found the perfect shade of blush pink scarf tucked away in a dusty little shop in Montmartre, which just makes me think of romantic sunsets and Parisian kisses! I just couldn’t leave it behind.
Paris: City of Ballet
One of my most magical experiences in Paris this weekend was seeing a breathtaking performance of Giselle at the Opéra Garnier. Honestly, the stage was absolutely enormous! And the costumes - oh my! The dancers, too, were spectacularly talented; they made the story come to life with such grace and passion.
The next day, I decided to immerse myself in Parisian ballet culture by heading to a ballet class at one of the oldest dance studios in the city. The class was held in a charming old building with high ceilings and beautiful wooden floors - pure magic! While my French wasn’t quite up to speed, I understood enough to follow along and learn some amazing steps.
What a Saturday:
Breakfast: It wouldn’t be a Parisian weekend without some decadent croissants. I snagged some buttery goodness straight from the bakery near my hotel and ate them outside, feeling the Parisian morning air.
Morning: A little more shopping was a must! It’s such an exhilarating thing to do in Paris, wandering the narrow streets and discovering hidden treasures - not to mention indulging in all the gorgeous pastries and macarons I could possibly find! And a spot of window shopping on the Champs-Elysees for some top-notch fashion inspiration, obviously.
Afternoon: My most magical Parisian moment! That unforgettable experience of watching the Giselle ballet performance at the Opéra Garnier. Such breathtaking artistry and passionate performance, I simply felt mesmerised.
Evening: As dusk descended, it was time to head to the Eiffel Tower for a dreamy evening stroll. We got a magnificent view of the city bathed in golden light. The views were just incredible.
Night: I concluded the night with an elegant dinner in Montmartre. A perfectly romantic experience with delicious food and delightful conversation. It’s true - I don’t think there’s anything quite like an evening in Montmartre, sipping on wine, soaking up the charm of the cobblestone streets, and getting lost in the twinkle of a Parisian night!
Bringing a Little Parisian Charm Home
As I’m sitting here back in Derbyshire, writing this, my mind is filled with memories of Paris. I’ve already been daydreaming about my next trip to this magical city - perhaps in the spring when all the cherry blossoms are in bloom, and maybe even a bit more ballet in my life - who knows?
I want to encourage you all to live life to the fullest, travel to exciting destinations, and experience all the wonders the world has to offer. And of course, never forget to add a dash of pink tutu magic to your outfits, wherever you may roam! I firmly believe in spreading joy and happiness through fabulous fashion. And a little pink tutu never hurts anyone, do you agree?
So, until next Saturday, I’m off to twirl a little at my own ballet class and dream about Paris… until next time!
