#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post Number 854: Bonjour Paris!

Saturday, 2016-05-07

Well, darlings, here I am in the City of Lights! My pink tutu and I have arrived in Paris, the heart of fashion, art, and, of course, ballet. This trip was long-awaited, I tell you! You know I simply adore France - everything about it is just so romantic! And it's not just me who's excited! The train ride over from Derbyshire was as dreamy as always. Something about the Eurostar always feels so grand, you know? It makes you feel like you're stepping into another world.

I think the biggest highlight for my little pink-tutu-loving heart, however, was my new bag! I managed to snag a gorgeous new blush-pink clutch just before leaving Derbyshire - perfect for Parisian evenings. And speaking of evening, what a night awaits me! Tonight I’m going to the Opera Garnier for an absolutely divine performance of Swan Lake. Swan Lake! Swoons

Anyway, I mustn't go on too much! There’s so much I want to show you, from the dreamy pastel-hued macarons at Ladurée (seriously, those were to die for, darlings!) to the stunning views from the Eiffel Tower, to the divine outfit I snagged on the Champs-Élysées.

Today’s adventures began at Gare du Nord, with the sun streaming in and making the cobblestones look even more picturesque than usual. Just thinking about all the cafes with their pretty little outdoor tables, overflowing with fresh pastries and steaming cups of coffee makes me happy! Oh, I must say - I found a most adorable little vintage shop nestled along the Seine today. It had all the finest vintage clothing for ballet and for evening wear, I swear some of it must have been owned by legendary Parisian dancers!

Then it was a visit to the Louvre to gaze at the Mona Lisa – she really is as mesmerizing as everyone says. But of course, I just had to twirl a bit in front of the "Venus de Milo" statue. I think it's only fitting, wouldn't you agree? You can't go to Paris without twirling, even if you’re just surrounded by exquisite marble. I’ll pop those pictures up in a later post.

I have already spotted several locations for photo-shoots. Of course, there's no shortage of beautiful spots in Paris, so you can bet I'll be posing away with my pink tutu in all sorts of fabulous locations. The Jardin du Luxembourg, with its dreamy pond and floral borders, is absolutely on my to-do list. It’s just the most picture-perfect setting for ballet photographs! And the Champs-Élysées…oh darling, just the name says elegance and style, don’t you think?

I am looking forward to taking in a few street performances, too, those always seem so full of energy. I adore that street theatre element! After all, every city is a stage, especially one as magical as Paris. Speaking of performances, I just finished planning a day at the Opéra Garnier! You can expect to see loads of photos from that, I guarantee!

Oh, darlings, I also mustn’t forget to tell you about all the fantastic French ballet dancers! Today I went to the Paris Opera Ballet and had the most amazing time watching their rehearsals. They’re just phenomenal, each one with their own special style! I must admit I was almost tempted to just hop into class with them - just a couple of petits pas wouldn't hurt, right? But, then again, you know me, I like to watch others before joining the performance! There's just so much to learn from everyone around here!

And of course, no trip to Paris is complete without a little shopping therapy. So you can expect many a blog post dedicated to Parisian boutiques! Oh, and the incredible cheese shops, Swoon. It is my intention to take on board as much of the Parisian flavour as possible, so watch out for blog posts about Parisian lifestyle, I hope I can be of service, and maybe inspire you to give that pink tutu in the back of your wardrobe a try!

Right then, my lovely followers, it’s time to slip into something glamorous. The Opera awaits, and my heart is positively aflutter! Keep those pink tutus twirling, and don't forget to check back for my next Paris adventure!

Love always, Emma, www.pink-tutu.com

Ps: You know I have to ask! Do any of you wonderful people have any must-see places or things to do in Paris? Leave me a comment, darlings! Let me know your top picks!
