Pink Tutu Blog Paris - Post #884: Bonjour from the City of Lights! 🩰💖
Well hello, my gorgeous tutu-loving friends! Emma here, back from another whirlwind trip - this time to the dazzling city of Paris! If you haven't been, you just HAVE to put it on your list! It's a haven for a girl who loves the colour pink, beautiful buildings, exquisite fashion, and of course, all things ballet.
Travel by Train? Oh La La! 🚄
You know I love a good train journey, and this EuroStar trip was no exception! Whizzing through the English countryside and into the heart of France, with nothing to do but admire the views, munch on delicious snacks (and yes, I brought a little pink travel tutu, because why not?!) felt absolutely magical. You really do appreciate the world around you when you’re on a train.
Parisian Delights 🇫🇷
From the moment we stepped off the train, Paris embraced me with open arms. Oh, the architecture! The cobbled streets! The quaint little cafes with their adorable striped awnings! Even the air had a little je ne sais quoi. It just oozes romance and charm. And honestly, what’s a better feeling than a little Parisian romance, in a city of twinkling lights and historical charm?
Fashion, Fashion, Everywhere! 👗
You can’t talk about Paris without mentioning the fashion. My goodness, it's truly inspirational. From the effortlessly chic Parisian ladies strutting down the Champs-Élysées, to the high-end boutiques overflowing with gorgeous designs, my shopping heart was simply swooning. Did I mention I bought a beautiful vintage pink lace dress with the tiniest bit of embellishment on it? It practically cried out, "Wear me with a pink tutu, darling!" Of course, it had to go in my bag. 😉
Dancing Through the City 🩰
But I'm not just about shopping, darling! The ballet was a huge part of this trip. You know I love my ballet classes at home, and finding a beautiful studio in the heart of Paris to drop into was a true delight. My teacher, a graceful lady called Mademoiselle Chloe, taught us a fabulous routine based on the classic “Swan Lake” – she even included some extra twirls! The studio, painted a pale pink and decorated with antique mirrors, was absolutely divine.
And of course, the highlight of my Paris trip was seeing “Giselle” at the Opéra Garnier! Oh, the exquisite choreography! The sheer skill of the dancers! I practically had tears in my eyes watching the ethereal grace and breathtaking performance. I think I must have watched every performance from this ballet a hundred times by now. It's like a dream!
Foodie Finds 🍽️
Every meal in Paris is a culinary adventure! Whether it's a fresh, crusty baguette from a local boulangerie, a melt-in-your-mouth croissant, or a perfectly-prepared meal at a charming bistro, every bite is a delight. I especially enjoyed a tiny café hidden away on a quiet cobbled street where they made the most beautiful cakes – you have to check it out! They call it the Pâtisserie of Happiness - that pretty much sums up my time here.
Weekend Adventures 🚲
This weekend in Paris was jam-packed with adventures, but let's not forget some of my must-do's:
The Eiffel Tower: It just wouldn't be a trip to Paris without a visit to the Iron Lady. Standing at the top, taking in the panoramic view of the city… you just feel that Paris magic washing over you! And of course, it made for some excellent Instagram shots, so everyone back home knew how amazing my time was!
The Louvre Museum: I was blown away by the artistry of this incredible museum! I mean, who hasn’t seen Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa, even if just on screen? Standing before this historical artwork, and then venturing around all the galleries filled with beautiful masterpieces was definitely an unforgettable experience. The sheer size of the museum had me swooning for days after!
Notre Dame Cathedral: The majesty of this Gothic masterpiece left me breathless. I mean, those stained-glass windows were absolutely stunning!
The Palace of Versailles: A true vision of grandeur! Those gardens, oh my word! And just the feeling of royalty as you wander around the stately rooms of the palace is something else.
Shopping along the Seine: Did I mention I loved the shopping in Paris? What girl doesn't?! I picked up a new pink ballet bag, a perfect pale pink beret, and even some adorable pink bow hair clips that I couldn't resist. And of course, you know I had to snap a few photos with my Parisian purchases!
Tutu Tips for Parisian Tourists:
- Wear Pink: Paris loves pink! Don’t be afraid to embrace your inner fashionista and make a statement. Just pop on your pink tutu for a Parisian day trip - trust me, people will admire you for it!
- Embrace the Ballet: There's so much ballet to see in Paris! From grand operas to intimate studio classes, find a way to embrace your inner ballerina.
- Be Spontaneous: Don’t be afraid to step off the beaten path and discover hidden gems. Take a stroll down a side street or a meander through a park, Paris can be explored through spontaneity!
Goodbye, Paris… For Now! 👋
My dear friends, my time in Paris was nothing short of magical. I soaked up the city's elegance, indulged in Parisian charm, and of course, added a touch of my own personal pink tutu style. The vibrant streets, the captivating art, and the charming locals made for a trip I'll cherish forever. But before I go, remember: wear pink, twirl often, and live life with a little extra sparkle!
