Pink Tutu Blog Paris - Post 914: Ooh La La! It's a Pink Tutu Adventure in Paris!
Bonjour mes amies! It's Saturday, the 1st of July, and guess who's in the City of Lights? That's right, your favourite pink-tutu-clad ballerina, Emma, is here in Paris! Squee! I've been dreaming of this trip for ages, and it's finally here!
This week was an absolute whirl of packing, performances and last-minute pre-trip excitement! My last performance of the week was a charity event for a local children's hospital, and what better way to make the little ones smile than with a spectacular "Pink Tutu Gala" performance? We danced to everything from classical waltzes to funky, modern pop tunes, all in the most vibrant and cheerful pink tutus, of course! I even managed to get a couple of the audience members, little girls who were absolutely entranced by our show, twirling with us at the end - that's how we do pink tutu magic!
But back to my Parisian escapades! I've always loved the romanticism of the Eurostar. It's a wonderful way to travel, much more civilised and relaxed than flying. I was lucky to get a seat with a view of the French countryside - how beautiful! You know I had to make a quick outfit change, however - what else would one do with a perfect train journey than a photo shoot?
Speaking of outfits, darling, you know I can't come to Paris without a new tutu! Let's face it, a ballerina in Paris is simply a must! Thankfully, I managed to find the most beautiful creation - imagine, if you will, the most luscious shade of pink, the kind that's almost a peachy coral - it's absolutely divine. The perfect Parisian-inspired tulle that flows around my legs like the softest dream! I think you'll have to wait until next week for a reveal though, you know I love keeping some secrets!
Speaking of Parisian fashion... It’s almost unfair to say I have favourites in Paris, they’re ALL beautiful! But there's something magical about strolling along the Champs-Élysées. My camera’s had a right work-out, I must admit, snapping everything in sight: the bold patterns on Parisian cafes, the beautiful flower arrangements in window displays, the chic ladies in fabulous hats and coats (although who wouldn't in a city that knows a thing or two about winter chic!)
Oh, and you know me and the Eiffel Tower? There’s just something magical about it. You can see it from so many parts of Paris, and its beauty is just so iconic! Today was a full-on sightseeing day: The Louvre with its endless artworks, strolling through the Tuileries Gardens in the afternoon, admiring the beautiful fountains and statues and ending with a glass of chilled rosé at a quaint cafe, watching the city come to life at twilight.
Paris is already so enchanting, and today it feels like I'm right in a movie! So far, I've tried all the quintessential French food. A buttery croissant (just divine!), an overflowing plate of French onion soup, a traditional baguette with fresh butter (so simple yet oh-so-good!), and let’s not forget the classic crème brûlée! It was divine and I’m determined to master this recipe, even though I have to admit, it won’t be quite the same in Derbyshire, where I’ll miss the magical Parisian ingredient of "la joie de vivre" (if that can be considered an ingredient, which, when you think about it, maybe it can!)
On that note, I'm going to sign off for now, darling. I’m planning a visit to the ballet at the Palais Garnier tomorrow - I hear it's absolutely magical! Who knows what my Paris adventure will bring next, but you can be sure to join me next Saturday for another dose of pink tutu magic from the City of Lights! Remember, my loves, every day can be an adventure, as long as you have a pink tutu and a heart full of happiness! Bisous from Paris!
Until next week! Emma xx
