#PinkTutuBlogParis - Saturday 2017-09-16: Bonjour from the City of Lights! (Post #925)

Hello my darlings, and welcome back to Pink Tutu Blog Paris!

This week, I'm writing to you from a little Parisian cafe, with a delicious macaron in one hand and a steaming cup of chocolat chaud in the other. The air is crisp and the scent of fresh bread hangs heavy in the air - honestly, it's practically a sensory overload!

Paris - ah, Paris. The city of love, fashion, and… tutus? Well, that's my mission anyway! πŸ˜‰ This past week was an absolute whirlwind of tutus, theatre, and the most fabulous fashion finds - a perfect blend for a ballerina girl on the go.

I kicked off my Parisian adventure by hopping aboard the Eurostar - my favourite way to travel. There's something incredibly chic about speeding through the English countryside and then gliding straight into the heart of Paris, the "Gare du Nord". And yes, even on a train, I sported my signature pink tutu. Gotta get that message out there, right? πŸ’–

Fashion finds:

My first stop in Paris was a pilgrimage to the most amazing vintage clothing store called "La Maison des Modes". Honestly, you could spend hours browsing through their beautiful collection of everything from 1920s flapper dresses to chic 70s ensembles. And my pink tutu, of course, felt right at home amongst the flamboyant costumes and flamboyant patterns.

Next, I had to venture into the Parisian shoe paradise - a secret shoe boutique hidden in the Marais district. They had the most beautiful, delicately crafted shoes – delicate ankle boots, classic ballet pumps, and even the most incredible pair of sparkly pink slippers - just perfect for a pink-loving ballerina! I even spotted a gorgeous pair of sparkly heels that had to come home with me. Can you say "Parisian chic?"

Cultural Conquests

I simply couldn't visit Paris without a trip to the "Palais Garnier," the awe-inspiring opera house that served as the inspiration for the iconic Phantom of the Opera. The interior is a work of art - golden ornate decor, sweeping staircases, and the most breathtaking chandeliers. I imagined myself performing on the stage in my favourite pink tutu, and felt a surge of pure ballet-inspired inspiration.

For a change of pace, I saw the most incredible "comΓ©die musicale," a modern musical set in the Latin Quarter. It was a joyous mix of dance, music, and a touch of drama. You could almost taste the excitement in the air! I must say, it sparked a newfound inspiration for my next choreographed performance in my signature pink tutu. πŸ˜‰

And the best part? I managed to sneak in some ballet class! "La Classe de Danse" is this charming little studio in the Montmartre district. They offer everything from classic ballet to contemporary dance and even street dance. The teachers are simply wonderful - all so supportive and encouraging - and the students, well, they were all absolute stars! My little pink tutu twirled with glee amongst the passionate Parisian dancers - an absolute dream come true!

*Life lessons learned in Paris: *

This past week, Paris truly captivated my heart. It's a place where history meets culture, romance, and artistry. I love how people here have an air of sophisticated grace, and don't seem afraid to express their unique style and passion for life. I think this city taught me the true value of embracing your passions - whether it’s fashion, art, or, of course, the magnificent power of the pink tutu. πŸ’–

Weekend in Paris plans:

This weekend, I'm exploring the chic shops of the Champs-Elysees, catching a captivating "spectacle" in the charming theatre of Montmartre, and indulging in the delectable flavours of Paris with a picnic by the Seine. And yes, of course, there will be a few more tutus along the way, spreading the pink magic everywhere I go. πŸ˜‰

Join me next Saturday!

Make sure to follow along with my adventures by visiting www.pink-tutu.com every Saturday for a new Parisian post.

Remember, every single one of you has the power to be a radiant ballerina - don't forget to unleash the pink tutu within! πŸ’–

Emma xx
