#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post #932 - Saturday 4th November 2017 - Bonjour Paris!

Oh la la! Bonjour mes amis, I'm so excited to be back in Paris for another exciting week of pink tutus, fabulous frocks, and of course, all the wonderful ballet that this beautiful city has to offer. This weekend I'm sharing all about my Parisian adventures with you, so buckle up your ballet shoes and prepare for some serious sartorial splendour!

It's amazing to think that I'm back in this fabulous city! Honestly, it never gets old. The romantic cobblestone streets, the cute little cafĂ©s with their striped awnings, the smell of fresh croissants – Paris is just full of Parisian charm and wonder. And don't even get me started on the fashion!

A Eurostar Trip Full of Tutu Glamour

This time, I decided to take the EuroStar to Paris. It's just the most efficient way to get to this beautiful city from my home in Derbyshire. Plus, the train ride was a treat all on its own. My outfit was on point, of course, with a gorgeous blush pink tutu (the perfect travel companion!), a soft blush cashmere sweater, and a chic little handbag adorned with tiny ballet slippers.

As I boarded the Eurostar, I realised there was only one thing I hadn't considered – a hat! In Paris, one must always be prepared for all weathers, so I nipped to the station shop and picked up a delightful blush pink beanie with a fluffy pom pom. Perfect for when the Parisian chill hits.

It wasn’t just me in the mood for tutus though! There were a few other fashion-forward folk onboard too. I spotted a girl in a fabulous emerald green tulle skirt, which just screamed Parisian chic, and a young man in a patterned knitted scarf that made my creative brain just hum with excitement. Maybe the Parisian style was already starting to rub off on me!

A Ballet Show Fit for a Pink Tutu Queen

Now, when in Paris, it's only right to head to the iconic Opéra Garnier. The grandeur, the architecture, the opulent décor, and the incredible performances
I mean, it’s a feast for all senses! This weekend, I had the absolute privilege of attending a breathtaking performance of Swan Lake. I mean, Tchaikovsky, ballet and an exquisite theatre all in one – how lucky could I be? I even caught the eyes of a handsome Parisian with a lovely shock of blond hair in the stalls (no doubt his jaw was dropped as he gazed at my pink tulle masterpiece!).

And just to be super, extra special this time around, I took some extra effort to glam myself up. For my Swan Lake date with Parisian culture, I chose a voluminous lilac tutu (to match the ballerinas' costumes!) with layers of soft, shimmering tulle, paired with a shimmering pink, satin top, and my trusty ballet shoes, of course. My friend Laura, who was coming to Paris this weekend, said I looked “positively majestic”. It truly felt like a night to remember!

Shopping for Parisian Style with a Pink Tutu Twist

Now, Paris wouldn’t be Paris without shopping, right? After a truly wonderful show at the OpĂ©ra, my friend Laura and I headed straight for the most iconic of Parisian department stores – Printemps. It was, dare I say, a fashion haven! It felt like the entire history of fashion was in those grand arcades and I couldn't wait to find a piece or two of that legendary Parisian flair to take back home with me.

You might think it's tricky to find a pink tutu for my wardrobe amidst the high-fashion brands and trendiest collections, but don't worry, the world is my pink tutu oyster! After some dedicated window-shopping, Laura helped me navigate the maze of clothing racks and shops and we landed on some gems.

First up, a stunningly vibrant pink satin scarf, embroidered with delicate ballerinas, just begged to be taken home with me. We also snagged a gorgeous pink faux-fur bolero, which looked simply delightful with my pink tulle outfit. It was fluffy, plush and seriously fabulous. Perfect for Parisian nights and chilly English weather! I could even imagine it pairing perfectly with a pair of ballet flats.

We decided to treat ourselves to a light Parisian lunch at the iconic Printemps cafĂ© on the top floor. Of course, the whole thing had to be topped off with a glass of delicious pink lemonade. Delicious and chic all in one – my perfect afternoon in Paris.

* Ballet On the Streets – When Paris Meets the Performing Arts *

Before wrapping up my Parisian adventures this weekend, we decided to experience some street performing art – another way this beautiful city takes my breath away! Now, Paris has its share of performers of every genre - acrobats, singers, mimes, even street artists drawing the most amazing portraits with pastels, all vying for your attention in the Parisian boulevards and piazzas.

As a lover of dance, however, I felt a little let down at first, because there wasn’t a single dancer. Laura suggested we pop by the metro station where a bunch of street performers often show up after sundown. After all, where there is culture, there is also usually dance, right?

Laura was right! At the bustling entrance of the Metro station, a troupe of ballet dancers were showcasing some seriously impressive moves in their beautiful pastel tutus, just waiting to catch my eye! And catch my eye they did – for these ballet street dancers performed with such grace and expression, with an air of pure Parisian chic! Laura and I found ourselves captivated and were drawn in by their passion for dance. They showed some real strength and dexterity, and I even saw a little bit of Parisian hip hop dance mixed into their repertoire! I almost wanted to jump in and join them!

Later on, we found ourselves sitting down at a small bistro close by, sipping on some sweet French tea, and enjoying the lively ambiance, as we tried to soak up all the exciting things we'd seen this week in Paris.

As I head home, I'm feeling so energized by the city and filled with excitement about all the future trips I have planned for this beautiful and vibrant city! The Parisian glamour has totally rubbed off on me and I can’t wait to find the perfect tutu for my next Parisian adventure. It'll have to be a stunning blend of chic and classic, with just a touch of modern flair – oh la la, I can’t wait!

Follow along with me next week for more Parisian adventures on www.pink-tutu.com. Until then, I hope you’ll all enjoy some lovely autumn vibes, have some delicious hot chocolate, maybe wear a little pink – even just your favourite shade of lipstick will do, and don't forget, I can't wait to see all of you rocking your best tutus next Saturday for more #PinkTutuBlogParis adventures.

Love and pink tutu-tastic waves!
