Pink Tutu Blog Paris: Post #934 - Saturday 11th November 2017 – A Tutu-tastic Parisian Adventure!
Bonjour mes chéris! It's Emma here, your Pink Tutu Ballerina, back from the City of Lights with a heart overflowing with Parisian charm, breathtaking performances and, of course, an irresistible love for pink tutus! This week's blog is brimming with Parisian joie de vivre, fashion finds, and of course, a dash of tutus!
The journey started bright and early, catching the EuroStar from my little corner of Derbyshire, feeling utterly fabulous in my favourite pink travel tutu and a splash of sunshine yellow. The train whizzed through the countryside, leaving behind the familiar sights of rolling green hills and quaint villages, until arriving at the grandeur of Gare du Nord in Paris! It was love at first sight, that classic Parisian feel, with the smell of buttery croissants and the bustle of Parisians going about their day.
Pink Tutu in the City of Lights: Exploring ParisMy first stop? The Musée Rodin, naturally. Can you imagine the inspiration Rodin found for his iconic sculptures amongst the peaceful gardens and elegant courtyards? The sheer scale of his masterpieces was simply breathtaking! I felt a pang of yearning for ballet barres amongst the sculptures and let's just say I envisioned a rather fantastic tutued photo-op. But alas, this was not meant to be as the museum forbade tutus… so frustrating! But there was so much beauty to be absorbed, with the "Thinker" sitting forlornly, and the bronze "Balzac" just oozing artistic brilliance. I may not have worn a tutu, but my imagination soared.
Later that day, I treated myself to the ultimate Parisian experience, wandering the enchanting streets of Montmartre. It was a fairytale come true. The winding, cobblestone streets were lined with cafes spilling onto the pavement, while artists displayed their talents and charming boutiques temptingly beckoned with whimsical trinkets and elegant Parisian fashion. It was a sensory explosion. The air was thick with the aroma of freshly baked baguettes and pastries, while the sound of lively conversations and the clatter of buskers filled the air. I even managed to find the tiniest boutique packed with the most adorable pink tutus, all tucked away in a secret nook. I was giddy with excitement!
Of course, a trip to Paris wouldn’t be complete without indulging in a delicious French dinner at a quaint bistro tucked away on a cobbled street. The waiters were charming, the atmosphere was delightful and, the food? A culinary masterpiece! Buttery flaky baguettes, succulent steak, the tastiest French fries imaginable, and a delightful dessert – I could practically taste the French heritage in every mouthful!
The Magic of Ballet: Dancing into the Parisian NightsMy evenings were just as spectacular, filled with enchanting ballet performances. On Wednesday evening, I sat entranced by the Paris Opera Ballet at the magnificent Palais Garnier. I had never felt so connected to the graceful, swirling movement, the intricate steps and emotion captured in every plié and jeté.
And on Saturday, a truly extraordinary night, I ventured to a unique cabaret performance called "Tutu Paris", held in the heart of the Latin Quarter. The entire experience was delightfully kitsch and whimsical. Imagine elegant ballerinas adorned in glorious pink tutus, performing on a stage draped with feathers and sparkles. They twirled and leaped to a mix of classic and contemporary music, accompanied by hilarious comedic skits. The whole crowd was roaring with laughter, dancing along, and shouting "Bravo!" after each number. The highlight of the show was the hilarious ‘tutu fight scene’ with feather boas and pom poms – pure and utter hilarity. It’s a performance I’ll remember for a lifetime!
### Fashion Finds and Parisian Style
You simply cannot visit Paris without exploring its amazing fashion scene, and I was eager to dive into its Parisian charm. My days were a whirlwind of exploring charming vintage shops tucked away in bohemian Montmartre, browsing luxury designer stores on the Avenue Montaigne and scouring the trendy boutiques of Le Marais. I came away with a bag filled with stunning pieces - a silk scarf emblazoned with Parisian icons, a luxurious beret that felt divine against my skin, and a pair of delicate silver earrings that sparkled like Parisian lights. But the most fantastic purchase of all? A vibrant, fuchsia pink, tulle tutu, so voluminous and delightful, that I just had to own it. Let's just say, my tutu collection is rapidly expanding, and Paris has given me another jewel to add to my crown.
Travel in Style: A EuroStar JourneyAs my time in Paris came to an end, I hopped back on the Eurostar, wishing I had packed an extra day or two, feeling as though I'd only just started to scratch the surface of this magnificent city. But I can always return for more, and with so many tutu-licious discoveries, I know my next Parisian adventure is just around the corner.
Remember my loves, embrace life’s little moments, find the sparkle in every day, and let your inner tutu twirl! If you’re planning your next European adventure, remember Paris. It’s a city that truly captures the spirit of grace, style and the irresistible allure of a perfectly pink tutu!
And remember my darlings: "Life is a ballet, wear your tutu and twirl!”
Until next week,
XOXO,
Emma www.pink-tutu.com
