#PinkTutuBlogParis: Paris, Mon Amour! (Post 945)

Bonjour mes chéris!

It's Emma here, and I'm so excited to be writing to you from the City of Lights itself, Paris! I arrived last night, hopping off the Eurostar at Gare du Nord after a delightful journey through the English Channel (I’m such a sucker for a train ride – such a wonderfully elegant way to travel, especially when you’ve got a tutu to twirl in!) This trip was funded by a rather glamorous performance of 'The Nutcracker' I did back in Derby - which I might add went off without a hitch - the final scene with the sugar plum fairy was exquisite, the tutus positively shimmered!

I’ve been dreaming of Paris ever since I was a little girl - all the books I’ve read, all the movies I’ve watched, the romantic cafes, the fashion… everything screams Parisian elegance. I just knew that Paris had to be the first stop on my new, much more adventurous #PinkTutuBlog series of travels. (You didn’t think I'd stop at one pink tutu, did you?!) And trust me, the Paris streets have been a dream for my wardrobe - from vintage-inspired boutiques to department stores bursting with fabulous frills, I've been snapping up enough outfits to keep my ballet closet full until next year’s run of 'Sleeping Beauty'. My new, super-soft pink beret with a teeny-tiny tulle bow sits beautifully perched on my head as I type.

Now, you wouldn’t believe the ballet scene here! Paris is home to some of the most famous ballet companies in the world – The Paris Opera Ballet is legendary! I saw them performing a special Valentine's Day edition of 'Romeo and Juliet' - a whirlwind of passion and beautiful costumes (and I even spotted some exquisite tutus! My favourite part, however, was the intricate set design. Talk about a truly Parisian experience).

Of course, no trip to Paris is complete without some serious sight-seeing! This weekend, I'm taking a tour around the Louvre – I’ve been hearing about 'The Mona Lisa' since forever! (Perhaps they’ll let me do a ballet sequence by the masterpiece… one can always dream! #TutuDreams) Then it's on to the Eiffel Tower (naturally) - just imagine all those Instagram opportunities! I’m hoping to get the perfect shot with the backdrop of the iconic structure, a perfect opportunity to make everyone back home jealous!

It goes without saying that I will be documenting all of my Paris adventures in a series of #PinkTutuBlogParis posts, filled with photos, fun stories and fabulous fashion – with a dash of ballet, of course!

Speaking of ballet… did I tell you about this adorable little dance studio tucked away in a tiny cobbled street that I found earlier? The owner – an absolute darling of a woman with a laugh that’d make the whole street jingle - has the most amazing collection of old ballet shoes - the collection's an absolute gem! There's an old pair of Russian pointe shoes that would have been absolutely perfect for 'Giselle’ - they’ve had a fabulous life! I’m actually thinking of taking a class while I’m here - something to keep my ballet muscles active, especially if I want to keep my twirls up to scratch when I take my pink tutu on tour around Europe!

Speaking of the pink tutu... oh, I just saw the cutest baby-pink ballet shoes with delicate tulle bows! Perfect for an afternoon promenade through the Jardin des Tuileries (after I finish my Croque Monsieur – the croissants were AMAZING! What else do you need to know to be happy in life?!).

You know, there’s just something about Paris that feels… well, magical. The streets are buzzing with life, filled with colourful characters and endless style. I mean, where else in the world could you wear a pink tutu with such panache?! Every single moment in this city feels like a story waiting to be written. And as I explore this enchanting city with my beloved tutu (pink, of course!), I feel myself growing more inspired and more in love with this fabulous, beautiful and eternally chic world of ballet.

Catch you all next week, with even more exciting adventures and Parisian inspiration.

Au revoir for now,

Emma

xx

#PinkTutuBlogParis – An Ode to the City of Light

I hope you all loved this post! I really wanted to capture the energy of Paris and the sheer joy of getting to be a ballerina in a pink tutu in such a fabulous place! It feels as though every single moment is a chance to embrace life's little luxuries and take a step outside my comfort zone - or perhaps that's just the French influence? It really does feel like Paris can make you embrace life as an exquisite adventure, all the time!

You'll all have to join me for next week's post. It will be all about a Parisian ballet class (tutu time!) and some of the amazing sights I have already discovered in this, my favourite city! I can already tell that my trip is just going to get more fabulous from here, filled with gorgeous outfits, amazing performances and Parisian fashion finds.

*But let me know your favourite parts of this week's post in the comments! Do you want to know about Parisian fashion, Parisian cafes, Parisian food, Parisian ballet…?! Whatever it is, tell me about it, I want to share it all! I’ll answer all your questions in next week’s post! *

Until next Saturday,

Emma xx
