Pink Tutu Paris: Bonjour, My Lovely Tutus! #948

Saturday 24th February 2018

Oh, Paris! My heart beats a little faster every time I step onto your cobblestone streets. The air itself seems to hum with romance, art, and a sprinkle of Parisian chic. This weekend, I’ve finally made it back to the City of Lights – a true dream come true!

As usual, I decided to make the most of the journey by hopping on the Eurostar from London to Paris. What better way to start a Parisian adventure than gliding through the countryside on a high-speed train? Of course, I donned my trusty pink tutu for the journey. After all, comfort is key, and what’s more comfortable than a twirly, delightful tutu?

This time around, I’m even more excited than usual! I’ve secured tickets to see a ballet at the iconic Palais Garnier – the setting for Gaston Leroux’s haunting novel “The Phantom of the Opera.” The stage itself is a masterpiece of opulent architecture and history, and I can hardly wait to see it come alive with a vibrant, energetic performance!

But first, it’s time to explore the city that inspires countless creatives and fashionistas alike. It’s almost impossible to resist a spot of shopping in Paris, and this time is no exception. I’ve already spotted a delightful vintage boutique near the Louvre – it seems to call to me with its charming sign and dusty window display. Perhaps it will be the home of my next pink tutu masterpiece, complete with lace, ribbons, and a whole lot of Parisian flair!

Of course, I’ll be documenting all the highlights, so keep your eyes peeled on this blog throughout the week!

My Parisian Adventures Continue:

Day 2 - The Palais Garnier Magic:

Yesterday was truly a dream! The Palais Garnier is every bit as impressive in person as I imagined. As the majestic doors swung open, a wave of history seemed to wash over me – so much creative energy, countless performances, and stories echoing within these walls. The interior was dazzling – a grand hall of gold and velvet, ornate statues, and a dazzling chandelier that cast a magical light over the entire space.

And then, the performance! “Swan Lake” never fails to capture my heart with its elegance and ethereal grace. Every twirl, every leap, was breathtaking. It’s truly a joy to be reminded of the beauty and power of human movement. I couldn’t help but let out a few quiet, happy “Oh!”s and “Ahs!” during the show, and I even shed a happy tear or two. The raw emotion and pure joy expressed through the dance – it was utterly captivating!

Day 3 - Montmartre Muses and A Tutu Touch-Up

This morning, I made my way to Montmartre – that charming, artistic hilltop neighborhood known for its cobbled streets, vibrant artists’ studios, and iconic Sacré-Coeur Basilica. It’s impossible to walk around here without feeling inspired – a truly captivating blend of history and creativity.

It wouldn’t be a trip to Paris without some serious retail therapy, would it? This afternoon, I found a beautiful shop in a tucked away courtyard – overflowing with vintage garments, glittering baubles, and lace trimmings. The woman running it is a veritable font of fashion knowledge and an absolute delight! After much conversation about fashion history and trends, she even offered to help me fix the seam of my favourite tutu. It’s so heartwarming to see that passion for creative pursuits, for craftsmanship, is still so vibrant in Paris.

Day 4 – Fashion Dreams and Café Conversations:

My time in Paris is slipping away too quickly, but I’m making the most of every moment. This morning, I had the pleasure of visiting one of the grand couturier houses – their fashion showroom is pure magic, filled with exquisite designs and a wealth of artistry. It was almost overwhelming!

After all that inspiration, I stopped for a leisurely lunch in a charming cafe near the Seine. There’s something so special about Paris – the food is incredible, but there’s also a sense of quiet sophistication about it all. I love observing people, their unique style, their little routines, as they navigate the streets and soak up the Parisian atmosphere.

Day 5 – Ballet Inspiration and a Bon Voyage to London:

Before my final departure from this magical city, I wanted to visit one last time the wonderful Palais Garnier. I had been captivated by its stunning beauty and history since I stepped inside and I wanted to savour it one last time. There is an intangible energy here that feels powerful, inspiring, and full of hope, all rolled into one.

Now, it’s back to London – my heart overflowing with Parisian inspiration and a love of ballet burning brighter than ever. This city has a way of rekindling your passion, reminding you to chase your dreams with boundless energy and joie de vivre.

Of course, I’ll keep you posted about my future adventures. And don’t forget to stay tuned for a glimpse into my newest Parisian tutu creations – a little Parisian flair with a dash of pink magic.

Until next time,

Emma
