Pink Tutu Paris: #952 – Ooh La La! Bonjour from the City of Lights!
Hello my darling Pink Tutu Peeps!
It's your favourite pink tutu-clad ballerina, Emma, here, ready to whisk you off on a whirlwind tour of the magical City of Lights. This weekend, I swapped my usual Derbyshire dance studio for a Parisian ballet class, and let me tell you, it's been pure magic! I arrived on Thursday in a flurry of excitement, popping off the Eurostar in a pink and purple silk outfit with my signature tutu peeking out (of course!).
It's the 24th March, the first day of spring, and Paris is blossoming with a romantic, colourful vibe. I feel utterly transported by the atmosphere here; it's almost as though the cobblestones themselves hum with the spirit of creativity and joie de vivre.
So grab a glass of champagne (or a sparkling pink lemonade!), settle into your comfiest armchair, and let's get this Parisian adventure started…
Bonjour from the Champs-Élysées
Arriving at Gare du Nord, my heart was doing a little pirouette in my chest. The air felt crisp and elegant, tinged with the scent of blooming roses. After settling into my delightful pink and white striped hotel room overlooking a quaint courtyard, I couldn't resist donning my sparkly pink tutu and a chic pastel jacket (because a ballerina needs to be ready for anything!) and setting off for my first taste of Parisian grandeur – the Champs-Élysées.
I'll be honest, I did feel a bit like a princess in a fairy tale, twirling down the grand boulevard amidst chic Parisians and street performers. I caught a glimpse of the iconic Arc de Triomphe, towering majestically over the cityscape, and it truly felt like I was living in a fairytale!
Bonjour, Ballet! A Dance Through the City of Lights
My dance card in Paris is full to the brim, naturally! I squeezed in a delightful morning ballet class at the Opéra Garnier on Friday, just as the first rays of sunshine kissed the rooftops. It was a beautiful space, filled with history, and even more inspiring, a room full of passionate, talented dancers who, despite the language barrier, were just as ecstatic as I was to be dancing together.
Later that day, the magnificent Palais Garnier played host to the sublime "Giselle." I watched, captivated, as the dancers wove their stories through movement, their exquisite movements a symphony of grace and passion. This, truly, is where I felt the heartbeat of Paris - in the elegant, heartfelt performances and the breathtaking choreography.
From Haute Couture to Hot Chocolate: Shopping Spree!
It's not all just dancing and dancing and dancing, my dears! What would a Pink Tutu Parisian adventure be without some serious shopping, wouldn't it? I've been wandering through the chic boutiques on the Rue de Faubourg Saint-Honoré and marvelling at the craftsmanship, the colours, the incredible creations of Parisian fashion. It’s truly inspirational.
But it wouldn't be a Pink Tutu adventure without a dash of “Oh-so-Parisian Chic,” wouldn’t it? My Pink Tutu shopping bag is already bursting with treasures – a stunning floral print scarf, a playful polka-dotted headband (naturally pink, darling!), a pair of shimmering ballet shoes that will make me pirouette even higher. And of course, no trip to Paris is complete without indulging in a hot chocolate – thick, creamy and rich – enjoyed by a fireplace in a cosy little cafe.
Stay Tuned for More Paris Magic!
My lovelies, this is only the first few steps of my Parisian adventure! Stay tuned for my next post next Saturday – where I'll be taking you on a whimsical tour of Montmartre, the vibrant heart of Parisian art, and even perhaps share some delectable food finds along the way!
Until next week, remember – embrace your inner ballerina, live life in a whirl of joy, and never be afraid to twirl!
Lots of love,
Your Pink Tutu Queen, Emma.
