Well, it's Saturday again and that can only mean one thing - it's time for another Parisian adventure! 🗼✨
I've just finished another exciting week of ballet performances in Derby. So much fun performing for the local community! The feeling of connecting with an audience through dance is simply magical. I am so very grateful for every single opportunity to do what I love most - bring the joy of ballet to others! And luckily, these performances help fund my travel habit - because who could say no to a trip to Paris?
This week, I was on the EuroStar to Paris, my very favourite way to travel - comfy seats, plenty of space and amazing views! It was just me and my trusty pink tutu - my outfit de jour, of course. After all, I wouldn't dream of traveling anywhere, let alone to Paris, without a splash of pink! 💖
So, onto this weekend's adventures!
The Eiffel Tower - Oh So Chic!
I simply had to start my day with a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower! It's so elegant, with its iron latticework and sweeping views of Paris. 🗼 We had the most amazing lunch on the second floor, followed by a stroll across the Champ de Mars. Everything just felt so magical, with the tower dominating the skyline!
Musée du Louvre - Art & Pink!
Of course, I couldn't go to Paris without seeing the Louvre! It's a feast for the eyes, filled with some of the most iconic artwork in the world. I couldn't help but admire the sheer scale and artistry of Leonardo da Vinci's masterpiece, the Mona Lisa, even with the hoards of tourists snapping selfies around her. And what could be more fabulous than a painting surrounded by the pink-loving Parisian fashionistas?! There is definitely a colour inspiration theme at the Louvre for me! Perhaps a 'Pink Lisa' artwork for my next pink-tutu ballet performance?!
Opera Garnier - A Parisian Dream
Later in the afternoon, I was feeling extra glamorous so I treated myself to a trip to the incredible Opera Garnier. I absolutely adore opera! The architecture is absolutely breathtaking and the performances are simply sensational. I'm hoping to see one while I am in Paris - maybe even snag a ticket to a ballet! I simply couldn't resist the opportunity to pose for a photo in the iconic Garnier stairwell with its sweeping golden staircase and opulent details. It’s the kind of place that makes me feel like I’m living out my dream of a life immersed in the beauty and artistry of ballet.
Tuileries Garden - The Pink Rose Bushes!
My evening took me to the Tuileries Garden. I just loved strolling along the tree-lined paths, watching families and couples enjoying the sunshine and taking in the lush greenery. There was also a charming little park just across from the Tuileries where they were selling amazing pink rose bushes! How could I leave Paris without a little piece of Parisian magic for my home garden?! 🌹 Of course, I got a few for myself. It’s time to create my own pink-tutu rose garden!
And... the Food!
Parisian food! I think it was a new pastry every hour... so decadent! It really does feel like every little patisserie is baking its heart out! It's almost too much, but of course, I couldn’t possibly say no to an irresistible croissant or a delicate macaron. 🥐🌸
Feeling Inspired!
It’s amazing to be in a city that celebrates artistry, fashion, and culture at every turn! The Parisian fashion sense is always inspiring. There's just something about Parisian style that oozes effortless elegance, whether it's a chic, tailored jacket paired with jeans or a beautifully tailored skirt with a vintage blouse. It just works! And what’s more, they’ve adopted my pink colour scheme! The city is simply dripping in pinks and nudes… oh, and let’s not forget all those pastel-toned pink macarons! It really is all just perfect. I hope that I can bring some of this Parisian flair back with me to Derbyshire - you never know, maybe even a touch of 'Pink Tutu Parisian Chic' to our local streets!
A Weekend of Wonder
This Parisian trip has been absolutely magical, just as every trip to the City of Lights should be. I can't wait for my next trip back and hope to continue to find more hidden gems and fashionable adventures.
As I mentioned at the start, I’ve had another amazing week performing in Derby. But now it’s time for me to relax, recharge, and soak up the inspiration from my Parisian escapade. Maybe a quick dip in the hot tub with a Parisian-themed face mask is just the ticket. I know exactly which one I’ll use - it’s pink and smells of roses. And it has a tiny sparkly pink tutu attached to the edge, of course!
