Bonjour mes chérie! It’s your girl, Emma, back with another fabulous blog post from the City of Lights! 🗼 It’s Saturday, 6th October, and this weekend I’m feeling Parisian chic, just like the chicest ballerinas, only with a lot more pink! 💖
I’ve got my new pink tutu packed - because let’s be honest, what is Paris without a splash of pink? I also packed a sparkly new top, some vintage French inspired jewellery, and a pair of sassy red shoes. A girl’s got to feel fabulous, even if she’s in the most fabulous city in the world.
As you all know, I love a good train journey. This trip I caught the Eurostar, which is always such an amazing way to travel. So relaxing! I managed to finish that chapter I’ve been meaning to in my new ballet book while sipping on some lovely Earl Grey tea. You know what they say - a good ballerina always packs a good book! 📚 🩰
Oh! Did you catch my last post? I managed to pull in some extra funds to make this trip by performing in a new ballet production at The Savoy! Fancy dress as usual. The production was inspired by the Victorian era - I got to play a flamboyant dancer who actually wears pink! It’s not everyday that the leading roles call for a tutu and plenty of pink. So thrilled about that!
Speaking of thrilled, this weekend I have a truly thrilling treat in store for you, darling readers - I'm taking you with me to a breathtaking ballet show! This isn't just any show, either - it's "Swan Lake" at the world-famous Palais Garnier, one of Paris' most beautiful venues. It’s the quintessential Parisian ballet, don't you think? So much history and grace. And, I might just sneak in a photo with a swan prop! 🦢 📸
Oh! The Palais Garnier is a truly breathtaking piece of architecture. The sweeping staircases, the velvet interiors, the chandeliers! And when the show starts, the atmosphere is electric. Can you imagine it? You can practically feel the energy as the dancers take to the stage. Pure magic!
Speaking of magic, after the show, I’m treating myself to some seriously magical shopping at my favourite Parisian shops. You know I’m a sucker for anything vintage and romantic! I’m eyeing up a gorgeous lace top with a cute pink flower. Oh! And a gorgeous pink feathered hat, you’ve got to admit, that would be a bit divine. My darling grandma told me if you’re looking for unique finds, it’s always good to check out the antique stores. Apparently, Paris is teeming with them, with beautiful and often very affordable pieces of vintage treasures.
Don't worry, I won't forget to capture all the gorgeous shops I find - you’re getting the inside scoop, my darlings! Maybe, even a quick peek at what’s in my new shopping bag! Bags that I may even wear myself - in a tutu! 🤫 Oh! My best friend Sophie, told me to check out a store called "The Pink Tutu". Honestly! As if, I could resist. 🤭 It just seems meant to be!
Of course, what’s a Paris trip without indulging in some of the incredible cuisine? My friends say I need to visit the local patisserie and have a pastry. And, after I indulge, I have to show you exactly how my day of pink Parisian food goes down - from morning croissant to a French pastry in the afternoon! I am looking forward to sharing it all with you!
But let me tell you a secret! Before all that delicious food, I am going to join a Parisian Ballet class. That’s right, right in the heart of Paris. Oh, the fun we shall have, trying to channel our inner ballerina. Imagine - me, in a pink tutu, attempting graceful poses. Honestly, you'll just have to stay tuned to see it unfold! 🩰
There’s no way you can spend time in Paris and not see some of the beautiful sights, am I right? It’s been ages since I last saw the Eiffel Tower, so that’s at the top of my to-do list! You can bet I'll have some photos ready for your viewing pleasure - maybe even one with a baguette! 🥖 🗼
On my next blog, I promise to detail the magic of my experience with "Swan Lake". How the dancing makes my heart skip a beat. How the graceful, graceful moves feel. What a pleasure to just bask in it. I am also going to share my very first impressions of Parisian fashion - which I promise to re-create at least some of it with my own personal pink touch. Oh! And you definitely, absolutely need to be on the lookout for a fun new project. A really big, exciting project that will involve all of you.
