Oh, la la! The Eurostar has just whisked me away from the rolling hills of Derbyshire and dropped me straight into the heart of Paris, and I feel like Iām already waltzing through a scene from La Belle Ćpoque! Honestly, this city never fails to capture my heart with its cobblestone streets, elegant cafes, and impossibly chic Parisians.
I can't resist starting this Parisian adventure with a flourish! So naturally, Iāve donned my favourite pink tulle tutu, because, let's be honest, a bit of sparkle never hurt anyone, and it definitely matches the magical atmosphere of this enchanting city. Iām a firm believer that a tutu is the perfect outfit for exploring ā itās comfy, it twirls, and it makes you feel like a princess, even when youāre dodging tourists on the Metro!
This week, my Paris itinerary is packed with all the things that make my heart flutter:
Ballet bliss! Saturday evening sees me heading to the OpĆ©ra Garnier for a breathtaking performance of "Swan Lake". The music, the costumes, the incredible athleticism of the dancers - Iām positively brimming with excitement just thinking about it! Thereās a reason Paris is known as the capital of ballet; the standards are incredibly high here. The excitementās building and I can almost hear the final flourish of Tchaikovskyās iconic music.
Shopping till I drop! Naturally, a trip to Paris wouldnāt be complete without some serious shopping. From the chic boutiques on Rue Saint-HonorĆ© to the charming independent shops tucked away in hidden courtyards, Paris offers endless opportunities for fashion inspiration. And let's not forget about the beautiful, colourful fabrics that line the streets ā itās a real feast for the eyes! Iām on the hunt for a vintage coat, a Parisian-style beret, and a silk scarf, but honestly, who knows what else will catch my eye!
Fashion frenzy! It wouldnāt be a Parisian escapade without some serious style spotting. My favourite places for street fashion are in Le Marais and Montmartre - the perfect spot to capture the laid-back, boho style that I love. From street art to the artistic vibes, both of these areas are so photogenic, especially if you're after some stylish street shots! The people of Paris are such visionaries ā their chic elegance inspires me, from their playful scarves and hats to their effortlessly put-together ensembles. Itās a feast for the fashionista!
Cafes, croissants, and conversation! Paris has the best cafes in the world! Itās a cliche, but itās true! The atmosphere is simply electric ā filled with the chatter of Parisians and the smell of freshly brewed coffee. Itās impossible to not soak up the Parisian energy in these havens of delightful delights.
Speaking of delicious delights, letās not forget the croissants! Honestly, they are divine. Buttery, flaky, and just the right amount of sweetness, they're the perfect accompaniment to a coffee and some leisurely people-watching. The perfect Parisian pick-me-up!
Iām feeling incredibly lucky to have this opportunity to share a glimpse into my Parisian adventures with you. Itās going to be a whirlwind week! As always, my goal is to spread a little bit of joy and, of course, convince you to embrace the magical power of the tutu! After all, life is a dance, and I believe everyone should feel empowered to twirl with confidence.
